Some people just love their Land Rovers big; you can't get much bigger than the Series 2a and 2b Forward Control! Take a look at these fascinating and rare vehicles. If anyone knows any history or has pictures of these type of vehicles at work please contact the Webmaster.

Recently imported from Cyprus this rare Forward Control 110 Series 2b belongs to Ian Rumsey.

This is the first production 2a Forward Control, awaiting restoration in Peter Coello's garden.

Affectionally known as "The Kebab Van" this 2a Forward Control was once a crew bus for Land Rover engineers.

This is ALF. He is a 1964 Series 2b Forward Control with Radar body from the RAF, lovingly restored by Brian Jill and Megan Marshall.

Ketil Oftedahl's 2b was once an emergency vehicle with some sort of box body.

Not a Series 2 Forward Control, but worth including here for its rarity value.

This Series 3 Forward Control, owned by Chris Mayne, was once a mobile incident unit for Notts Police, now being converted as a camper.

James Stanley has been restoring this 2B. He hopes to have it finished, complete with body conversion by August 2005.

Occasionally we get updates on vehicles featured here. This is "ALF" (pictured above) now restored back to his original operational colours.

Series IIB Forward Control (VIN 33100105a) as it currently stands in Sydney Australia waiting for restoration, submitted by Diana Alan.

An interesting fifth wheel plus trailer combination.

A "cherry picker" elevated platform vehicle. These were once quite common around the country.

A more usual type of conversion, this one is a box body type, used as a workshop or tool store.
