This is Fred Durrant's interesting 88. Look at the rear load bay cover; a sort of cross between a hard top and a Ifor Williams canopy.

We don't see many ex-military 2s, so it's great to receive these pictures of Rob Jones' 1964 ex-RAF FFR.

This is "Hercules" Matt Busby's latest acquisition, so called because he takes anything that Matt chucks at him in his stride.

From the Midlands Adrian Lord has submitted this picture of his 88".

Benjamin Bell sends this picture of his Series 2A 109, 1971.  It was a German export, L/H drive, then imported to New Zealand in 1973 and converted back to Right Hand Drive.

From Australia Len Smyth has sent in a picture of his 2a.

A very purposeful vehicle I'm sure you'll agree, with its very useful cargo area.

A good picture showing a clean unmolested dash panel and bulkhead.

This is Ian McFarlane's vehicle, 1968, SWB 2.25 petrol Series IIa, originally owned by Surrey County Council as a utility vehicle, in A1 condition throughout.

This is an original fire-engine, which was used at the Pembroke Powerstation by the Central Electricity Generating Board, owned by Marcel Koenen from Holland.

This is "Petunia" owned by Will Davies. She was at one time used by 2 Para and was also possible a "Follow Me" car on an airfield. She looks stunning now in her new blue paintwork.

 

Paul Sheffield is restoring this late 1971 2a which he rescued from the scrapman.

This 1962 2a has been owned by John Nock since 1979 an is used for towing the family's caravan.

Rob Chester and Fiona Robertson have sent in this picture of their Land Rover at the Callanish Standing Stones, Lewis on a two thousand mile round trip tour of the Western Isles from Yorkshire in Summer 2005.

This is Finn Walton's 1958 Series 2, which is currently undergoing a rebuild.

Alan Metcalfe has submitted this photo of his 1967 Series 2a Station Wagon during a "hard days off-roading" with the family in Northern Ireland.

This a beautiful example of the rare Series 2a Airportable (Lightweight) Land Rover, owned by Brian and Jill Marshall.

It's a brave man indeed that camps during a British winter. Here is Martin Pegrum's 88 and classic caravan combo.

This is Tony Lucey's recently rebuilt ex-military 109.

Here is Robin Bell's tidy 88 pick up. It was once the vets vehicle at Woburn Safari Park.

This is Antony Cheshire's modified 2a. This is a good example of how to modify a 2 for off-roading without losing the character of the vehicle.

Geoff Giles and Tom Vooght have recently been doing a bit of filming with the BBC.

The story was a re-enactment of the events following the Grunwick industrial dispute in the 1970s.

Russ Beck is seen here putting his 1969 2A through its paces.

This is "Ezmarelda", much beloved of Greg Thorne.

An interesting pair of motors here, owned by Alistair MacLeod; a 2a Lightweight and a S2 hybrid off-roader.

Now currently under restoration, this is Tony Brooks' rag top 88.

Antony Cheshire's 88" hard top has additional off road protection in the form of a roll cage.

One ancient agricultural vehicle is not enough for some people. Here is Roland Elworthy's 88" next to his 1942 Fordson Standard tractor. He must certainly have an understanding wife!

New member Graham Barnett has submitted a picture of his Series 2 88.

A great picture showing that today's coil sprung 90s owe a lot to the design of the Series 2. Here is Patrick McNab who sensibly drives a S2 while his wife has a LR with curly springs.

David Mears is here in his 88 rescuing a vastly inferior 4x4 vehicle out of the mud.

This is "Tigger" owned by Richard Garner and family. Formally the registration number was 957 NUO. Does anyone know any history for this vehicle?

The following pictures are all of "Harvey" a 109 recovery truck restored by Andrew Orchard.

These vehicles were once a common sight at garages around the country.

The whole job from wreck to recovery took over three years.

The Harvey Frost crane is fully operational.

This is how the engine bay should look. Andrew has tried to maintain originality here.

Once in a while we get sent a sequence of pictures showing "before and after" shots of a restoration/rebuild.

Here are a coule of pictures of Toby Moody's recently completed restoration.

The vehicle has been in Toby's family for 31 years. You've certainly done it justice Toby.

From Belgium Carl Van Ravensteyn has sent in this picture of his interesting "Bug Eye" 109. The "Bug Eyes" were a stop gap model when the headlamp arrangement was forced out to the wings by US legislation.

With a name like "Sarge" this 88, belonging to Jonathan Ross from Devon, must have some military history.

With the "RN" designation this vehicle was formerly in the service of the Royal Navy.

Owned by Eddie Connor this 1960 vehicle had a relatively short life in the Navy being de-mobbed in 1968.

This is Gary Kenworthy's 1960 Series 2. Note the "rockslider" sills that replace the modesty panels to prevent damage when off-roading.

Gary doesn't just play with his 88 - it has to work for its keep too!
