The Netherlands

Henk Weerheijm from the Netherlands sends this picture of his 1961 88.

Nieck Jan Boschmann from the Netherlands has sent in this picture of his LPG powered 88.

This is an original fire-engine, which was used at the Pembroke Powerstation by the Central Electricity Generating Board, owned by Marcel Koenen from Holland.

This Land-Rover is called Lara's Granny and belongs to Willem and Dorien Weltevrede. This picture was taken on a laning trip in Germany.

Switzerland

Lorenzo Savioli from Switzerland has restored this lovely Series 2

Luxembourg

This is "Sybille" who is being restored by Francis from Belgium.

Johan Rutgeerts from Belgium has rescued this 109 from slow decline in a barn. It looks like there's plenty of work to be done, Johan!

From Belgium Carl Van Ravensteyn has sent in this picture of his interesting "Bug Eye" 109. The "Bug Eyes" were a stop gap model when the headlamp arrangement was forced out to the wings by US legislation.

Italy

Francesco Meriani from Italy sent this picture of his 2a.

From Trieste Andrea Righini has sent pictures of his 109 Station Wagon.

I think you are meant to repair it first Andrea! We're glad to see that the proper metal grille has been put back on.

This is Matteo Inzaghi 1967 Series 2A 88 Diesel.

At the front of this convoy is Maurizio Ortodossi's ex-military 1965 2A. The green one behind is a 1964 civilian model.

Portugal

Jose Almeida from Lisbon, Portugal rescued this 2a from being scrapped.

Jose has also rescued this unfortunate fire appliance from a scrap yard. He hopes to restore it.

This is Mathilda on her way home. She belongs to Rui Teixeira from Torres Vedras.

After some months of restoration here is Rui's 109.

Now, with a new overdrive, rectified engine and a new paintjob among other things, Mathilda looks impressive on the roads of Torres Vedras.

Jose Almeida sent in a picture of a Series 2a 109 fire tender he found in the North of Portugal. Ii i's still being used in parades in a village called Sabrosa, in the lovely Douro valley where the famous Port wine is produced.

Spain

Juan Carlos from Valencia has sent in this collection of pictures of his "Ligero", a Santana derived air-portable vehicle.

Germany

From Germany this excellent 109 basks in the snow.

Czech Republic

From the Czech Republic, Ivan Plachy has sent in this picture of his rare 1964 Swiss Army 88 with trailer air brake tank fitted.

These are Ivan's collection; a S2a swb 1969 with capstan winch and the '64 ex-Swiss Army vehicle pictured left.

Max from Graz in Austria has sent in a picture of his 1964 109, a veteran of 33 years with the Fire Dept. and a trip to the Sahara! He says that Morocco is next!

Norway

Ketil Oftedahl's 2b was once an emergency vehicle with some sort of box body.

Here is Ketil's 109 station wagon, once owned by our very own Technical Officer.

Nils Svensen submits this picture of his recently purchased 1966 2a 88".

This is Ragnar Skinnes 1959 88 petrol. He calls his vehicle "Shorty".

Here is Ketil Frengen's radically modified 1971 Series 2A 109.

Here is a picture of Tor Linge Tønnessen's Series 2 submitted by his son, Fredrik. When they bought it, they had to chop down a couple of trees to get it out of the forest, where it had been standing still for the last 25 years.

1967 Series IIa in Northern California in the Sierra Nevada. Owned by Mark Pilkington, Ex Pat Brit' It has disc brakes and a 5.7 liter Chevy V8 in it.

Canada

The number plate on Steve Stoneham's 1967 109 says exactly that. I wish we could get this style of Ontario plate in the UK.

South Africa

Tanzania

Found on Mt. Meru in Tanzania, this is Gavin Duke-Norris' 1959 Series 2

Gavin totally stripped the vehicle as part of its rebuild. Fortunately original parts are actually quite easy to get hold of in Tanzania.

The result is this magnificent vehicle in a fantastic metallic paint job.

Australia

This is Len & Susan Smyth's wonderful 109 "ute".

The Webmaster simply loves these "trayback" type vehicles.

This is beautifully restored. Look at the quality of work in the cab.

These are Wayne Ellard's fire trucks. The white one is a 1958 series I (Ex Woomera Emergency services) fitted with a rear PTO driven AMAG 300 gpm pump.

This is a picture of the red S2 as fond by Wayne who lives in Australia.

This vehicle is a 1964 series IIa (Ex Australian Army Fire tender) fitted with a PTO driven centre mounted coventry climax 500 gpm (currenty still being restored). Thanks Wayne.

Ken writes, "No comfy greenlaning for Australian Land Rovers, mate. The 2a has to work for its living checking fences in dry, dusty, outback conditions, with searing daily temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius. Best thing England could ever have sent us (although we could use some of your rain too) Goodonya!"

Indonesia
