Greenlaning 9th April 2011: Salisbury Plain

Longbridge Deverill. 10:00am

The line up before heading off. 7 Land Rovers in total.

Excellent weather - Somewhere near Warminster.

Coming off a lane and heading up towards Chitterne.

Bonnets up to tackle a carb problem..

Don't they look nice and clean in this picture?

Getting closer to Chitterne...

Onto the Plain and we finally find some mud. The weather had made everything very dry and bumpy in most places.

Waiting for it to dry out..

While John's Land Rover drys out a few of us decide to go through the puddle a few more times..

.. when bored of that Henry decided to try the track next to the puddle. Going into it a little slow got him grounded..

After being pulled out.

Before setting off again..

Approaching one of the urban warfare villages.

Clive tackles it nicely..

Mud like Chocolate.

A few more..

And last but not least..

A quick break. Notice the toliets provided on route!

Henry had a flat tyre. No problem though, as he had enough kit to cater for more emergencies. Including this oversize "South West Area" trolley jack!

Onwards to the pub!

Getting thirsty now!

Jules over taking.. ( Should he not be looking where he is going?!)

So close to the pub..

Finally! Lunch & a pint!

Bit of cross axle action going on here.. Not to clear because of the mud flaps.

Jules enters the puddle nice and slow. We knew this one was really gloopy underneath, and where certain he wasn't going to make it..

And he didn't!

Still, no problems here. We'll let Jules attach the tow row, while James gets ready to winch him out.

Does anyone see the sharks fin in the background?

Recovery..

Finally..

Thank god for the chocks!

They did their job nicely..

Jule engine bay..

And the front of Jules Land Rover. - A bit sticky..

After much coaxing Dave decided to 'have a punt'.

Send your donations for the New Forest tsunami appeal to: newforest@series2club.co.uk (Only joking!)

I think he was expecting to get stuck, seeing as he already had his recovery rope attached.

James has a go in the 109..

Made it through now problem! Good job I closed the vents!

Heading back towards the Bustard Inn.

Blown up tanks!

Nearly there..

A good day out was had by all! A few of us decided to wash the worst of the mud off in a ford on the way home.
Till next time. Good to see some new faces on this one!
