Our club was founded in late 1984 by a group of Series 2 enthusiasts. By the autumn of 1989 the club was growing and it was decided that it became a limited company by guarantee to gain legal recognition and protect the members from any financial liabilities. Each member of the club is also a shareholder of the company and is personally liable for any debt incurred to a maximum of £1. The company is run by a board of directors and a company secretary. The directors have devolved all the day-to-day running of the club's business to the committee, the composition of which is shown below in the table. The Memorandum and Articles of Association set out the aims and remit of the club (through the company's objectives). The accounts are deposited with Companies House each year, they are independently checked and open for inspection (contact the Treasurer). We hold an Annual General Meeting where the club officers present their reports from the previous year, new committee members are elected as necessary and various resolutions put to the membership.

Club Rules
Since those early days the club has continued to grow and develop into what it is today. We currently have around 1400 members, spread across the world, but mainly concentrated in the UK.
The Club is organised into a network of regional Areas loosely based on the old ceremonial counties. Area Organisers arrange regular pub meetings and co-ordinate attendance at local events/shows and liaise with larger event organisers to obtain entry to these through the club. Members in areas regularly go on road runs, green laning, camping weekends, workshop meetings, etc. |
