A nice turnout for the Wakefield/Yorkshire pub meet today 



As the Kings Arms has had no chef for the last couple of meets, a couple of us trialled the facilities at the famous Redbeck Café (Motel) nearby on Doncaster road this morning.
We thought it might work out well if anyone who wanted a late breakfast / early lunch before the next pub meet (October) could meet up there at around 11:00 before moving on to the pub at 12:00.
Plenty of parking and within 5 minutes of the pub.

I'll send out a reminder before the next pub meet.

Was good to catch up with you all, the breakfast at the cafe was a nice touch and can see that being the usual stop on the way

I thought about suggesting an SOS (Steering On Sunday) for one of the pub meets.

Our Series Land Rovers sometimes suffer from wear or loose components, causing vague steering, often without the driver really noticing.

It's easy to check most of the components with a helper swinging on the steering wheel while you view and/or feel the various parts of the steering system.

I'd be happy to help anyone who wants to check theirs on the day, though it may be weather dependent as it's not pleasant laying on wet ground under the front of a Land Rover!

Well, with the current surge of the Omicron Covid virus, and the rather 'compact' (ie. squashed with lots of strangers!) nature of the Redbeck Cafe, I feel that we should cancel that part of the pub meet until further notice!

That doesn't stop anyone going there if they want to, but I suggest we meet at the King's Arms as usual, after 12:00, and stay outdoors to be safe.

Hopefully we'll see some folk at the pub on Sunday

I was wondering if it was going to happen  being Easter Sunday an all 
Might actually make it over this time……….
