N.Y.M.R Steam Weekend 30th-31st May
« on: February 03, 2020, 08:28:00 PM »

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway Steam visit for club members will be on Saturday 30th May at Levisham station, YO18 7NN, meeting at 9.00am in the vehicle display area or joining the convoy from the pub in Newton Upon Rawcliffe through the private Newtondale Forrest Road at 8.15 am.

You can travel 1/2 price through to Whitby for the day, visit Pickering or take a private tour of the Grosmont engine workshops with N.Y.M.R. yard foreman, Chris Kelly. The tour with Chris last year was great fun, with access-all-areas and insider knowledge of large scale engineering that made for a fascinating morning.

Camping is available over the weekend at The White Swan, Newton Upon Rawcliffe, YO18 8QA. Simply telephone the pub to book a pitch, mentioning the Land Rover Club  : 01751 472505.

The pub will be feeding us all on Saturday night and have asked us to pre-order our meals, I will ask everyone attending to have a look at the menu and let me know what meals are required the week before the event.

I don't know how we're going to top the great picture captured by club director, Richard Gosling, last year  :o

On Sunday morning there is a run over Rudland Rigg as a recce of the green lanes we plan to use for the rally.

Let me know if you plan to join us.
All the best, Gordon

It's the jewel in the North West area crown, I'm torn though, as a fan of NYMR, Goathland, Levisham Pickering and Whitby  :shakeinghead

Peter

Sorry Peter, but steam trains and a trip round the workshops did it for me.
