I have this Barnacle model, but just noticed it only shows red to the rear when hung on the nearside and only fits well on up/down glass, and perhaps to late to return it :thud

What you need is a Wipac parking lamp. It is designed to fit either way up.

Noting that the MOT manual requires all the "marker lamps" to come on with a single operation of a switch, and this does not happen with the MoD 6 way switch, the attached letter might be handy to keep in your MOT file...

Noting further that my original email was 7 years ago and they've still not corrected the manual, despite having revamped it  !!

Hi,

I was born March 1939. Started driving at 17 (March 1956 ???). Passed my test in March 1958) but had started driving my own cars when the Suez "do" concession allowed my to drive unaccompanied. (I say "car", but the constable described it as an "abortion", and suggested I take it home and leave it there). Actually it was a BSA trike that the previous owner had "rolled". I paid £15 for the car, plus a smidgen over £10 for insurance. I generally discussed my car with the police two or three times a week, but they always let me go on my way. I had three lessons with BSM, and passed my test in 1958.

To the point ... I never left any of my cars  parked with lights on, unless on a bus route.
