Door hinge for mirrors
« on: April 17, 2020, 08:48:06 AM »

Someone on the old forum was taking your door hinges and welding them to take the wing mirror arm. Is that person on here and doing them as I need 2 pairs done?

Robin fabricated a pair of these hinges for me recently and the quality is superb at a very reasonable price.

Hi,

I frequently imagine (must get out more) a "badge bar" hung between, and slightly forward of, the windscreen hinge bolts, with a spring back mirror hung on both ends.

The bar should clear the wiper arms, but the mirrors would need to be swung out of the way, if you wanted to open the doors beyond the normal limits of the door "stop" thingies.

Yes there are other potential problems, but nothing insurmountable.  Remind me to add that to my "next project" list.

Just had my door Hinges adapted by Robin to take mirrors and he's done a fabulous job. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to keep original Hinges and be able to pull out into traffic without fear for one's life!

Thanks Robin.
