Frenchie it will have a sulk and break down when you try to move it.

I kept my appointment at the tip this morning then had a bit of a ride with no roof on just because I could.

Peter

I've got to try the no roof run. I've not done a No Roof Run since I had  Triumph Spitfire.

Exciting one this evening after work. Got the rebuild engine fired up on the floor. Took a while as there was nearly no spark. Thought coil was knackered. Dug out the old one and no better. Was measuring resistance of coil and leads etc. Changed the points and condenser and off it went! Hard to fault find when starting from ground 0. Little twist of the dizzy and ran great without seizing up or dumping oil which is always good. Only ran for about 10 seconds as no water plumbed up.

But all ready, and the car is all is all ready for it to go into. Happy days  :cheers :cheers

Well, it wan't a full rebuild. Overbore and head rebuild but full strip to bare block and lots of new shiny and oily bits. Cam and rockers were fine  :whistle :whistle :-X

After the clutch change and transfer box oil leak shenanigans, I changed the oil in the gearbox and transfer box, then spend what seemed like an age putting the seat-box, gearbox tunnel and floor plates back in, together with new rubber around the gear-stick, hi-lo lever and handbrake. Found yet more PO bodges that I'd not spotted during the strip down, missing Spire bolt holes had been "filled" with silicone, bolts into captive nuts had been replaced with smaller bolts ( m4 ?) through the captive nut and into a ...free floating...nut behind. A days work but a mish-mash of metric fixings replaced with spire nuts/bolts and 1/4in UNF bolts etc....

The problem is that I now want to strip the paint in the cab area and repaint it properly....so at some point it all has to come out again :-(

Amazing the things you can find to do to fill an hour 2 under lockdownish!

I thought I'd try fashioning my own Series 2 grill badge!

Refurb of a few parts before they go into storage,  it'll be some time before they are back on the car...

Is the spanner welded on or just stuck there for the picture?

Got the Panda camper's engine running again after a month's work ...

A slight water leak (poor soldered joint) and it helps to tighten down ALL the injectors.

All in all, it started after a good cranking and heat - didn't have to bleed the pump.
A bit of oily smoke.

I'll have to run it a while longer on the drive before I have my confidence back to take it out on the road.

But it's a start  :cheers

Got my bulkhead and front panel back from being blasted. My first time and I have to admit to being very impressed by the finish!

Very nice ...

Get some etch primer on it ASAP to stop rust getting a hold.

Wasn't working on it 24/7

An hour or so a day - It's not as if I've anywhere to go in it !

Still got an injector that's not sealing well in the head and an annoying water leak.
