VERY SORRY ... More phone stuff.
« on: August 28, 2019, 02:57:00 PM »

Hi,

This time you can blame Barbara.

Assuming I understand her correctly, about a week ago, BT sent her a new SIM card fore her mobile phone. We assume that she has to open the phone to change the SIM ???

How the (polite) Dickins, do you open the phone?

Phone is a SAMSUNG GALAXY TREND 2

Pretty please ......  :o

PS. Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.

Hi Alan,

Some duff-gen merchant is using your name/PC ...... :-X ... either that, or Barbara has a reject from the production line.

Her phone does not have a thumbnail size slit.

Hang on, the BT bloke said to stick a pin in. We assumed it was the pin-sized hole in the end. Maybe he meant to stick the pin in the "shark type" join. ( A sharks wotsit is water tight at 14 fathoms).

I will try again with a pin.

Hi Alan,

Nope! No luck. Nowhere obvious to stick the pin suggested by BT. Maybe a sharp Stanley blade would be more effective?

I almost feel like telling her to buy a new phone before she goes into hospital, boost my kudos credit rating.

I'll see if I can find a Stanley knife ... more leverage.

Thanks anyway.  :cheers

Theres usually a very small hole on the side were you just pop the pin in and the sim card slot should open. If thats any help.

Hi Scotty,

Thanks for that, but ....

... there ain't no little slot to stick your finger nail into.

I'll look again, after she returns from collecting our grand-daughter from drama classes (Pauline Quirk Acadamy).

PS, I assume that we have all heard of the bloke who bought a new car, and months later found there was no valve in the spare tyre? Not even a hole for the valve, but the tyre was inflated.  :stars

Hi PS,

Er .. you haven't met Barbara have you? I've seen Chinese policemen run away from her.

(Neither of us knew that learners are not allowed to carry passengers, in Malaya. We'd picked up a couple of Swedish hitch-hikers).

Whatever, problem solved. The nice man in TESCO showed her that the entire phone is encased in a thin plastic skin, which has to be removed first. Lucky I didn't use the Stanley.

Perhaps new skins are available for the sad looking mobiles mentioned above?
