Vardita
« on: July 04, 2020, 09:41:31 PM »

Has anyone tried buying from Vardita? I've just tried to get some door locks and my bank has refused to make the payment. I called the bank and they said that they would not pay to this company because there have been problems in the past but they wouldn't be specific. I have to confess the items were cheap.

Never heard of them ... never been mentioned on the forum until today.

Sounds to me like you've had a lucky escape  :first

Good on your bank in saving your cash.

Forget about them, whoever they are. They don't even come up on google, so I would leave well alone.

Overnight I wondered about the security of my card now that I had entered the details into the Vardita website and whether I should cancel the card as a precaution. I decided that this couldn't do any harm so rang the bank earlier and cancelled the card, while I was there I checked to see if anything untoward had gone onto the card since the rejected payment which it hadn't however when I asked them to check they said the last transaction was the one that had been rejected for £65.30 which is good but wrong. The amount I thought I was paying was around £49 so it is definitely a dodgy site which is a pity because the prices were really good.  :-X

Still cant find the site on Google. It might be an idea if you can post a link, so we know who to avoid.

Good prices there to entice you into buying, then they scam you.
It's good that you checked because you never know.
Also, if it crops up on my computer, I'll know to avoid it.

Might be best not to have the link on here as who knows what might happen. Maybe someone will click on it and get scammed themselves.

^^^^ Always pays to be cautious. I've been looking for a spare part for my car ( 23 year old Merc).  Found the right thing on Ebay yesterday but at almost half the price of most of its competition. I was about to hit "pay" when I though to take a better look at the pics and discovered that a pretty vital plastic component was broken off and missing from the part.....

....and never buy online from an unknown seller anything that you are not content to be a dead loss if it goes wrong ?

If it looks too good to be true, it is too good to be true. A lucky escape.
