Just an idle 602 type thought that might be worth developing for those with "ambitions"....

... adapt your spare wheel carrier(s) to include a hub bearing sleeve , complete with hub, bearings, seal, studs , end cap, etc. Carry your spare wheel on this hub (you might want to stop it rotating)... so when your wheel bearings throw a wobbly, in Outer Mongolia, you have a spare wheel and hub ready to switch.

Or perhaps not.
