Anyone seen the price of 338550 they are crazy like £7.50 + P&P + VAT!!! for one rubber!!! are they made of some kind of precious mettle or something? took me over an hour to find someone reasonable who makes them (4x £5) with free post

One thing I think its the short stud I need for the 88, not the long one, am I right?

The accelerator pedal shaft bracket from Blanchard's was just under £30 plus VAT. It's a genuine part but it didn't have a coat of paint. I've now eliminated all the free play in the throttle linkage so I don't really need it now!!!

That's supply and demand for you. If it's a part without much demand that is not being manufactured you can charge for its rarity and the fact that you have had to store it for the past 50 years or if you remanufacture it you have to charge to recoup the cost of tooling and set up.

We are fortunate that the the majority of the parts we need are still dirt cheap compared to most other classic vehicles.

OT, but associated ...

Probably about thirty years ago, it was mentioned in HOT CAR (I think) magazine, that the hobby of customising cars was actually improving the supply "classic" parts, by increasing the demand for new replica parts.

Strange world.
