Reinstating Cat Flap
« on: September 14, 2019, 08:15:16 PM »

I’m throwing away the safari door and reinstating the cat flap set-up that was hacked out and sold off by PO.
Does anyone have recommendation as to who I should get all my rubber seals from  :tiphat

The seals around the opening are the same aside from the bottom one, which on a tailgate is attached to the tailgate itself rather than the tub. Only seal you'll struggle to get is the one between the top and bottom tailgates - as far as I know this is still unavailable.

I did mine a few years ago, here is a picture I made as I had to have the blue and yellow pieces in the cross section folded up in stainless by the tin bashers at work - I got the seal that they trap from Blanchards I think. (mine had been turned into a door with a plate riveted front and back, the flap frame was like lace but it is just door fram section and I de-skinned it and cut out and welded it up good.)

I went to a janitorial supply store and bought a rubber for a floor squeege that was long enough to go across the back, Same one circled in yellow ^^^). Fit perfect, cheap.

Luckily the seal between the top and bottom is just about OK  :o
