Evening everyone

I thought that I would pass on my recent experience with Tesco motor insurance.
Whilst they are not really in the classic market it may be of interest to those with more modern cars as well.
We know that we don’t know how good the company is until we claim but my recent experience has been really positive.

A artic driver kindly reversed his artic into the front of my Discovery 2, whilst parked in the car park of my local Land Rover dealership.

I called Tesco and within 20 minutes I had booked an appointment with an assessor and a hire car was ready to be collected.

The car was unfortunately a write off (£1800 for a new bumper). They made a very fair offer and I had the money in my account within half an hour and the car was collected within a couple of days. All in all it was settled within 10 days of the accident and their communication was excellent. All admin charges & excess was waived so i’m not massively out of pocket.

Never had to claim on my car insurance before so was pleased that it wasn’t as hard as I imagined.

Ironically we were insured with Tesco a few years ago when my wife had a bump and I've sworn never to insure with them again!

We have had our other car insured with them for years good value never had to claim so can't comment on that side of their business.
