Hi, This has probably been asked before, I was trying to put some pictures up from our camping weekend, but if I try and attach more than 2 photos it just takes me back to a blank post, can anyone recommend an app or somewhere to upload the pics to and put a link to them on here, I’m not very clued up on these things.
Thanks
Phil.

Pictures are too big. Look at their properties, should see the file size.

Hi Tim, I was thinking that, but even resized you can only add 6 per post? I’ve got quite a lot, so I thought instead of putting loads of posts, could just add a link and people can go and look if they want?
Thanks
Phil.

I can increase the limit on the number of pics/images you can add in a post.

In the very early days of the forum we got the odd joker who thought it fun to try and do what we call now a DOS (denial of service) attack by swamping us out with loads of images.
There's nothing stopping you from making several posts - one after an other.
Gives us a pause between each set of pics.

I think the end result is the same - we all get the picture (sic) a flavour of the event  :first

If there's a disparate demand we can increase the limit.

But the reason why the forum rejected the images was that they were/are too big....
Get them down to around 600 KB (or 24 x 18 cm) in size.

We?I was looking at mods that automatically edited attached images down to size.
On paper they look good, but getting them to work within this forum is not so easy and they won't do anything for url posted images.

Thanks Alan, Ok, I’ll just add them on here, without trying to sound like a complete pillock, can I resize them on my phone (they are taken on my iPhone)?
Thanks, Phil.

When I send a photo by email off my iPhone you can choose 4 sizes:-
Small (40 ish KB)
Medium (125 ish KB)
Large (1.0 ish MB)
and
Actual Size (3.5 ish MB)

If you are posting straight off your phone then I don't think there is a re-sizer option.
Not something I do (often).

The other way is to email them to me and I'll run them through Photoshop.

You can edit them on your phone by cropping them  :tiphat

Thanks, Phil.

I use the Pixelmator App to reduce the size of iPhone pics when posting on the forum here - just resizing the pixel width to 700 significantly reduces the file size.  Posting on Facebook allows up to 40 photos per post, so it’s often easier, and reaches many more viewers - facebook auto-compresses the pic files, but without significant loss of quality.

Although the Club recently upgraded the forum software, it remains a legacy platform, based on 90s/00s architecture, which isn’t ideal for the way that most folk access the internet via mobile devices today to share pics.
