Not a new subject, but I can't find my original query.

Reminder ... sat-nav for my birthday (82nd). Instructions say power supply must be switched off when starting the engine.

So far, I have learned that the lower dash cigar socket switches off when key turned to start position, but socket on glove box box on transmission tunnel should switch off when starting. Or was it the other way round? No matter, I can check again.

The radio switches off when the key is turned to START position.

Problem! there ain't no back panel on the on the transmission tunnel box.  ..., No matter, I can fix that. But have I got it right?

I'll try it out on Barbara's Hyiundai.
