Bonnets are around, but the condition is beginning to get very variable. The aluminium corrodes where it touches the steel and the steel can be seriously deteriorated due to condensation running down inside it. The compound curve on the front of the steel section is very difficult to replicate.

Finding one good enough to fit as a short-term fix is easy but if you find one in good condition it is well worth paying a bit for if you can. Mine is currently in bits to deal with the above issue. I looked at a few but found they were only a little better and I would be back where I am now in a few years. Two frames are being welded into one good one and some parts are still needing to be replicated.

I will flag it up with the NW area organiser Dave Martin.

He lives in Southport so not too far from you.

We have a super website with lots of interesting "extra" Land Rover and club information ...

Series 2 Club website  :first

Including our Google events calendar which you can download and add to your phone's calendar.
In addition we list all the regular pub meeting venues and there's a whole section covering the club's areas.

Well worth a visit and bookmarking.

We are going to plan our own run if any one would like to come?
If Bob isn't ready in time we will take out P38
It should be a winter trip to here
http://llangollenmotormuseum.co.uk
But via some very nice roads (all tarmac and legal)
We have 3 or 4 vehicles interested from a Liverpool based club
