Hi Whitehillbilly,

Seeing as you are "antipedian" (spelling?), meaning your are "opposite footed" (live on the bottom bit of Planet Earth), I'm guessing that delivery times from UK can be somewhat vague?

I wonder if airmail can deliver mail coming the other way, faster than the Earth rotates under the sun, so it
will be delivered  before it's posted?

Even more OT, I once listened to a gramaphone record (78rpm) called THE SUN ROSE TWICE.

An RAF  Spitfire pilot was flying high over the Med, and watched the sun rise. He spotted an enemy aircraft way below him, dived, and shot it down. He then watched the sun rise again.  :stars

PS ... in 1965, I was "make weight" in an RAF VIP Comet, flying at 41,000ft (about 7 miles?) above the Med, (Sky was dark blue), when the pilot announced that the island of Capri was 15 miles away, on our left. To my eyes, it appeared to be straight down.

RAF Comets were pressurised to a higher "altitude" than civilian versions, so less likely to go "pop".
