I spoke to the club shop manager, they can no longer can get the filters but they now offer a new design that takes a easy to get filter but as this kit is around £140 + vat + postage I might find enough filters for the old kit to see me out and if I only change the filters every second oil change I might be ok but just keep a look out for filters just in case

Hi, Thank You, I've sent a message, I did contact him before and he said they were all gone but worth a try, if they are the 90mm size I will snap them up

I suppose it depends on the diameter of the sealing ring, but how about something like this?

I'm sorry to say these filters do not have a  restrictions plate as required with this engine/filter kit

As an alternative thought, Could you remove the adapter from the side of the engine and make a spacer plate for it from some 1/4" thick aluminium sheet? Couple of home made gaskets, longer bolts and screw it back into place.

You should then be able to fit the filters with the slightly larger diameter canister in place?

Not sure if that is possible. A photo of the adapter on the engine might help us.

Yes this would work and once my small stock of filters runs out this seems what I will have to do but having talked to a member who did this and found access very hard and had to remove the wing, rad and lift the engine, and in his case split the engine from the gearbox. So I hope my filters will last until a clutch job or my demise.
If filters will last for 2 yearly oil changes it may be someone elses problem

but I will keep a look out for filters just in case
