« on: April 21, 2021, 10:51:42 AM »

I didn't find this recent Reddit post, but I did think it worth linking here.

Originally on Reddit, in the  SeriesLandRover community.

I might just have to pinch the idea, draw my own components up in CAD and get them laser cut. I reckon I could add some more detail too like the Land Rover oval to the grille.

Would be good for camping as it could be flat packed again.

That looks a lot like the Nova Offroad one, but the Reddit one looks to be a little bigger.

That’s a great design. Replace the nova with Land Rover logo. Perfect.

Well, if we are expressing opinions;
The Nova uses the 'front' or radiator plate at both ends (obviously there is a commercial advantage).
I also think the size of the Nova logo a bit brash.
While I can see a 'sort' of 'Rover style' using the pull point shackles, I think a smaller size would be more in scale.
The Reddit version, I don't know the source, uses different front and rear view plates.
While they lack the pull point link I find the less obvious retaining pins to be more appropriate to the  barbeque product.

While I have never bought a barbeque, I might be tempted if the Reddit style was available, just for the smile factor. I appreciate the curve of the bonnet line, and the inclusion of the front and rear sidelights, the inclusion of the bumper, and axle profiles, plus the rear crossmember with PTO hole.

I would never buy the Nova version.
I do accept that I'm not really the ideal target market for this style of product. :-)

Regards.

Never understood the attraction of home BBQs ...

I can burn the food perfectly well in the comfort of my kitchen ...  :essen

Here are a few more opinions.

I have a pic around here of another SIII that was turned into a hot tub and grill combo - the tub section became the hot tub, the engine bay was the grill section, and the front seat area was a bar and entertainment center for the hot tub.  IIRC, the hot tub one pictured is part of an Air B&B there in the UK.

Well said.  Exactly my thoughts too.  Having lived in Australia for a few years I never want to see another bbq again.

(Ducks and runs for cover).

I do like the look of these Land Rover bbqs, but would not buy one.
