What are these rusty things?
« on: April 29, 2021, 08:48:08 PM »

Both of these came out of the Land Rover but I don't know if they were ever a part of it. The bent metal seems to have 2 possibly captive nuts that look like aluminium has been bolted to them. There is also a step that seems appropriate for body panel thickness sheet. They are probably both consigned to the scrap bin but if any knows what they are it would satisfy my curiosity.

I should say they came out of an ex military FFR so the bracket is likely something to do with that. Cheers

That would make sense for the first thing, thanks. I don't really want them so you have have them for the cost of postage but I probably won't be able to post them for a few days. I'll PM you when I do. Cheers

They are what Nathan has suggested and were the cause of both the rear wings rotting through on my 88 due to the dissimilar metals. Needless to say, an insulate barrier is required when fitting!  :cheers
