I need to clean up the rocker cover, were they painted? If not best way of cleaning them?

A couple of max heat cycles thro the dishwasher works wonders . I use an old one that I've got plumbed in down in the cellar just for parts washing.

Alloy parts were not painted , steel ones were .

The finish is plain cast alloy.

They were not polished up.

Oven cleaner, a Brillo pad and elbow grease all work,

Well I can use the dishwasher, I bet there a lot of people never heard of brillo pads. Elbow grease it is.
