Ah, I didn't spot they were sold in spring sets so yes, enough for one spring.

So that means over £100 to do all 4 springs, can't call polybushes a bargain can you.....

Not a bargain :ditto
So thats why I thought I would try one and see how that works out, in the long term either its a new set of springs, or buy the bushes, but I do like the springs

I'm unsure if its the springs or do all leaf sprung land rovers allow the tool box to leave the tub floor when driving over runble strips, the type they put across the road when aproaching or leaving a hazard or speed limit (WHY when leaving :stars)

Further to my previous post, the cost of 8 bushes from the USA was about £180.00.
The cost of a UK supplier was about the same.
I dont think the complete springs were much more, they were bought about 1995 and came wrapped in Canadian news paper inside a wooden crate, they have done sterling service over the years, 99% road use.

I’m sure there’s a clip on YouTube, ‘cast your own polyurethane bushes’, or similar.

Found one but in my clip you needed a 3D printer to make the mould and he did seem to have a few problems :agh
At the boment I only seem to have a problem with one bush so I will replace that with my purchases and if it all works I will look out for some more

If you want poly bushes I would think the best long term solution for cost and future easy availability of bushes would be to sleeve the eyes of the springs down with steel sleeves to take normal LR size bushes ??? You can get normal ones everywhere!

Whilst your right, I will try the bush I have bought and how hard it is to fit it and if it does fit!
Thsn either do as you say and look into sleves of some size or buy some more polybush as a new set of bushes of either sort will likley take me to the end of my Land Rover days

Bushes for Rocky Mountain parabolics
« Reply #24 on: June 23, 2021, 05:13:44 PM »

The rear spring bushes on my 20 year old Rocky Mountain parabolics need replacing.  The problem is that they are larger than standard:

outside diameter 31mm (1 1/4 inches)
length 62mm
bolt hole 14mm

I don't get an answer from Rocky Mountain in Canada, so I spoke to Jones Springs here in the UK.  Very nice discussion, however they cannot help so they pointed me to PS Bushings in Bournemouth.  No answer so far.

Does anyone else have any ideas who I can try - poly bush or traditional, it doesn't matter

Must be an opportunity got someone to import a load of those bushes and sell them over here?

The irony is that when Martin ran the UK Rocky Mountain business he sent me some rubber bushes for free as he was pulling them out of the springs as customers wanted poly bushes fitted. I’ve got one left as a spare.

I'm guessing RM made their springs in the US to match commonly available bushes rather than import expensive Land Rover size ones into their country.

They are probably something as simple as a Chevy truck leaf spring bush or maybe something like a classic Ford Mustang, Chevy Camero etc as they all had leaf springs.

If I could get the sizes of the RM bushes, outside diameter, width of the spring, width of the tube etc, I'm sure I could find out what they are and they are likely to be a few dollars each.

The link is a couple of posts back. https://www.truckspring.com/products/Rubber-Leaf-Spring-Bushing-ChevyGM__RB-120.aspx
They are about $7 dollars each and a very common size over there. All the dimensions are on the internet too.
