Thank you Wijendra and Autorover 1, I think those projects will have to be put on hold for a while due to the expense. While I am extremely happy with all of Dolly's mechanical work there are a lot of bits and pieces that I want to tinker with to get things feeling just right again. Plus I have 4 new tyres to purchase as she is still sitting on her original 600-16's which look good but are, after all this time, now illegal.

I am sure that Alan Jones (Wittsend) has a remote servo for the clutch on one of his.  A remote servo could be fitted to a 6 cylinder and you dont need a vac pump unless it is a diesel.

I do ... the Panda camper has a remote brake and clutch servo under each wingtop.

The gearbox is a Series 3 all synchro attached to a 2ΒΌ litre Diesel engine.
The vacuum is provided by a belt driven pump from a Peugeot car.

The Panda is off-road long term undergoing a front end rebuild so I haven't been able to fully test the servo assisted clutch action.

Peter,

Yes I agree, for any petrol vehicle there is no need for a separate vac pump, I went down the belt and braces approach as I wanted to keep the brake system separate (for safety reasons), and wasn't too keen on additional tapping of the inlet manifold.

Here are some pictures of the remote server installed on the clutch, does make a difference,

If all goes well I am booked in for the club Rally in Ripon, looking forward to it

I have a belt driven vac pump from a Peugeot on my diesel.  It is the same as Alan's, the pump is a Pierburg and were quite common in the 80s and early 90s.  land Rover fitted the sa,me pump on the early defenders and on the engines they sold that went in taxis.  Mine (and Alans) are on homemade brackets but I also have an original bracket from a taxi.
