S3 109 6 pot fuel tanks
« on: July 25, 2021, 08:05:52 PM »

Hello,

In a bit of a quandary. My Suffix C 109 project needs a new fuel tank.

599233 seems to be the one I need (https://www.paddockspares.com/599233-lwb-rear-tank-petrol-4cyl-6cyl-post-72-74-metal-clip-sender.html)

However, I am welding on a new rear 3/4 chassis. Perhaps I need 599234. Also on Paddocks.

Does anybody know the actual difference between these? Both the modern type with clip senders. I get the impression I will be fine with the cheaper 599233, but the mountings may be slightly different.

thanks in advance.

One is for petrol models that don’t need a return to the tank, the other is for diesel ones (and the petrol V8) that do.

It’s not air, it’s adjustment.

:o :o Thanks Glen - I've been scratching my head over it for a week or so now, worrying that the mounts may be different on the generic rear quarter etc.

It seems everyone gets the Diesel one an I suppose just blanks the return.

thanks again  :first
