How long before JLR wade in and claim copyright?

Peter
I know what you mean , Charles Emberton gets kicked off Ebay from time to time as JLR complain copyright on a part they haven't made for 40 years + Thought it best to grab one of these now before it happens here!

How long before JLR wade in and claim copyright?

Hi Peter,

I'm struggling to remember what "Teach" told us about copyright, at school. I think it was along the lines of "for the lifetime of the originator PLUS 70 (?) years".

I presume the 70 (?) years is to allow the heirs to benefit too?  Does the same apply to Limited Companies, etc.

Does the Plaintiff (?) have to claim/prove damages/losses? I suggest there are no losses, if the Plaintiff has deliberately ceased to publish/sell whatever they claim is copyright. ???

Everytime you photocopy a document, you are infringing the originators copyright.  And what about when fabricate a replica panel (or pert of?) for your Land Rover, for your own personal us

Who holds the copywrite on these ....:can_of_worms :can_of_worms :can_of_worms?

I have a problem with people benefiting, making money, off the stolen intellectual property of others - it happened to my father.  It also happened the the copyright owner of the '*&%^$ Knuckles Pub' grille badge.  I had the pleasure of helping take that guy down.  He was selling knockoffs on eBay.  Unfortunately he changed the design just enough when it came to his decals that nothing could be done.Edit:

Hmm... why is the word 'b****y' a word that needs to be censored?

Hmm... why is the word 'b****y' a word that needs to be censored?

Hi Correus,

I spent my last two years in the RAF, on an RAAF base "two hoots and a holler" from Viet Nam. The base had it's own radio station, which played lot's of listener's requests. Where necessary, naughty words were bleeped out.

We had to listen to " SNoopy and The BLEEP Red Baron ", and "She walks the BLEEP tower ... with her head tucked underneath her arm". (Spikr Milligan)

Strangely, Spike's rendition of "AUSTRALIA", was a little insulting, but not censored. Does anybody know the words?

In 1967 the RAAF "White Mice" (ex-Korean War F86 Sabre fighter jets) were replaced with Desault Mysteres, more suitable for their war in Viet Nam. I think that was the year that fighters (Buccaneers?) were dispersed from HMS Eagle ... two trundled up the public road between the two guard-rooms at Butterworth, which were about a mile apart. Wings folded, jet engines pushing them along.  :stars  I was told that one of our Bloodhound SAMs had made the same journey, but on a side-loading fork-truck.  I assume the local drivers were suitably impressed.

602 is correct, UK Copyright in published material lasts 70 from the authors death but tends to refer to books, dramatic and artistic work. This might be more a case of Trademarks and/or Registered Designs ?  Other jurisdictions have other rules, life + 50 years is common.

I understand our Club membership of ALRC allows us to use the "old" black LR oval design but not the current green one in our materials.

Interesting snippet here, supposedly the oval design was based on the outline left on the table after the designer had eaten a can of sardines....

Any idea why the word is considered 'offensive'?

[She walks the BLEEP tower ... with her head tucked underneath her arm[/b][/i]". (Spikr Milligan)

Wasn't that Stanley Holloway? Pretty sure I've got the record somewhere. Its also got such gems as "The Lion and Albert" and "Old Sam (Sam, Pick Oop Tha Musket)".
