Dropped through the letterbox this morning  :coffee

:-\ I wish they wouldn't wrap it in plastic. Yes we can dispose of it at a supermarket but who knows what happens to it then. Modern magazine packaging is now made from potato starch and is fully compostable. Key Publishers should enlighten themselves with more ecological standards.

And when you consider the vast range and number of magazines Key Publishers must be delivering every month, the amount of plastic that must end up in landfill is shocking  :-\

Mine's not arrived yet. There are postal delays here. I'll look out for the Series eleven.

Hello  :tiphat

I now see where I`ve gone wrong all this time, using two digits when I should be using two capital I`s. Although that in itself seems a bit weird, why would you use two letters to describe a number ???
I`ve never been absolutely sure how the model should be designated anyway, I`ve seen it described on the forum as the Series 2a & Series IIa :stars

I thought I`d once read something official looking describing it as Series IIa, (or more accurately before today 11a :-X )  so I've done the same.

This seems like a good time to ask the question of those more knowledgeable than I, what is the correct designation  ???

And if I do have a Series Eleven does that mean its worth more  :neener

I`m glad you've put me right  :cheers

I presume it's Roman Numerals that are used.

You beat me to it. I was just going to say “ What did the Romans ever do for us ? “

Ah yes Neil, it all makes sense now. Clever chaps those Romans who with their chariots also knew a thing or II about horse power.
And just as a bit of fun I`ve updated my profile   ::)

Amongst other things (allegedly) standard gauge (4' 8.5") was the track of a Roman Chariot.

Their number system wasn't their finest achievement, it made calculation cumbersome and time consuming and certainly didn't help their engineers and architects!

In Pompei the tracks of the carts have worn groves in the paving and they are 4ft 8½" wide.

Make of that what you will ...
