Navigating the last couple of inches.
« on: October 23, 2019, 07:57:24 AM »

Hi,

I don't think this will be OT, as it can be used when setting off on adventures in your Series 2.

I wanted to send directions of how to get here (my house) and exactly where to park on arrival. Easy peasy.

I just sent them my postcode, and suggested they do a Google ... eg: AA9 9AA SATELITE VIEWl  then adjusted the size of the image. Its possible to count the roofing bars on my conservatory. No doubt the "Clever Clogs" amongst can improve on that. I'm happy to learn.

Have you seen 'what3words'? Basically it splits the world into 3m x 3m boxes, each represented by 3 random words. It's starting to get used by the emergency services, when people get lost in rural locations. Assuming they have signal, they can text the 3 words to police, mountain rescue etc and it reduces the search area significantly😄

Clever system that has converted the longs and lats to random words.
