What gas torch/blowtorch?
« on: January 28, 2022, 06:37:51 PM »

I need a better blowtorch, something that burns as hot as possible, but I'm not wanting to use oxygen bottles.

I've been looking at the Rothenberger Superfire 2 which burns mapp gas,but I have a 47kg bottle of propane for my garage heater and I'm wondering if a propane torch on a hose would be more effective and cheaper?

I’ve used the rothenberger super fire 2 a number of times and highly recommend it. Costly, but well worth it.

Superfire 2 torch on MAP cartridges is great BUT  not cheap to run if using a lot.....

A  regulator for your 47kg  and a big torch would be cheaper to run but not as convenient as MAP.

I have both and just use the MAP kit for small jobs working mobile out of the van, big bottle and torch in the workshop for heating up castings etc.

HTH.  :cheers
