We are not the first to use this type of fuel , in fact we are some way behind other countries so has anyone else from outside of the UK noticed any issues ?

Europarts sell cart parts ( obviously) and therefore want to sell lots of pretty much anything they can. Would I trust and an article by the salesman?

I haven't noted a reduction in fuel consumption (beyond what I would expect at this time of year due to increased cold start) in the car I use on my daily commute.
My 2.25 petrol seems to be running fine on E10 , but I have replaced all of the fuel lines with E10 compatible hose and both tanks have been treated to a coat of POR15. Time will tell.

^^^ have you replaced the seals and solder in the carb and seals in the pump, I read that these can be a problem.
In 12 months we will certain if its OK

If you're that bothered it's easy to remove all ethanol from petrol, at home, with minimal faffing...it just lowers the octane a bit in the resulting fuel, no prob for a LR as they were designed to use *&%^$ 3rd world fuel if needs be.

Really ... I would question "minimal faffing"

Processing 1 litre or even a gallon is feasible, say, for your lawn mower.

BUT a SWB tank holds 45 litres. You are going to need mega size containers to do the separations to say nothing of the time factor involved ... or the fire risk.

Lots of Youtube vids, but scaling up for large volumes of fuel - forget it.
We covered this a few weeks ago

I take your point re quantities, I guess it depends on your requirements, i did the experiment with a few litres, if it were really necessary I'd process the stuff for my limited usage if I had to !
I've not had any issues as yet launching a variety of e10 and e5 ( and my home brew!!) into the LR as mentioned they're not that fussy, by design.
Of more concern is the whole nonsense of removing all oil based fuels from the market, period.

Hi Porkscratching,

I don't want to appear to be holier-than-thou but there are a couple of things that worry me with this.

The dangers of messing about with this highly inflammable liquid will be obvious to all and whilst I don't know the process you`re describing, a prosecution by the Health & Safety Executive would be inconvenient :go_to_jail

And then there is the law. Is tampering with the properties of petrol legal? E10 is part of legislation, it`s the law  :exclaim

Apologizes if I've explained myself badly. I certainly wasn't suggesting this be reported.
Just sending a cautionary comment, no offence intended.
Its none of my business and I wish you well  :tiphat

I for one only use E5 in my older Land Rovers

This was the start of the topic and really speaking should be the bullet point to finalise this topic, anything else is just " noise "

Merry Christmas and happy Land Rovering to all  :RHD :dancing_santas
