Post by: Bronze Green on September 13, 2020, 09:50:16 PM
Just started watching this program. A C Reg Series 2A appears a lot.

Missing it’s internal window locks, but a good vehicle - they can hear an incoming phone call & have a conversation in it !!

It changes identity at some point. I think between the second and third series.
Enjoyed the programme. Last one this evening.

The window locks are there at the top of the window, the gap at the bottom are for S3 locks.

4 series.
3 or 4 episodes in each series I think.
SIIA appears often in various episodes and series.
At least 2 identities/reg no.s.
More series than series if you see what I mean.
Seriously

I was out in my newly rebuilt S2a this morning, and an old dear asked me if it was the one from the tv show!

Took a bit of explaining, too shiny for a start!

I’ve been most impressed by the lack of gear crunching in a number of quick reverse into forwards get aways.

It’s telly don’t forget. From my telly days the dubbing boys could work wonders with the sound.
The number of times we would get complaints from the military that the helicopter shown was a sea king and it had a Wessex engine over it! Etc etc .

Often all they had in the sound library, POSs a lack of care / knowledge or playing devils advocate?

^^^^ Happens all the time ^^^

Listen to the engine noise dubbed over - Minis are often given a V8 sound as opposed the the biscuit tin A series engine rattle when starting off, etc. etc.

I believe I've seen a WW2 war movie with a series vehicle posing as a J**P!

This also happens a lot  :shakeinghead

Vehicles out of time !

One famous example is right at the end of Ice Cold in Alex.
There's a Series 1 on the street, and a Morris Minor parked up an adjoining street.

.... and in the TV series Star Trek Voyager there's a Citroen 2CV on one of the holodecks depicting a WWII street battle  :thud

There are many of such time shifts.

Almost all of the small Russian military vehicles in the Bond film Living Daylights airfield scenes were Land Rover series. Some plain as day, some disguised with corrugated sides.

I do have to chuckle at pointing out the accuracy of a show such as Star Trek Voyager  :-X

I can't remember the name but I've seen a wartime film where a 1950's pale blue Fordson Major tractor is towing a trailer of bombs to be loaded.

I think I’ve seen your vehicle out and about somewhere recently, I’ve been around the northwest quite a bit. Or am I dreaming it ?

Is it just us here at Betsy towers or has Strike forgotten to limp in this series ?

Possibly not! It’s been on the road a couple of months now, done about 400 miles in it. Mainly around south Stockport, and a couple of runs up to Goyt Valley.
