Build data/numbers
« on: October 16, 2021, 11:29:51 AM »

A long while back we provided input for a data collection of all stamped numbers on our Landys...I've had a look in the website but cant see any databased offering a view of whats been collected

Any help pointing me to where this may be stored

Thanks

Hi James,
Unfortunately this data was all collated on the late Chris Gregson's laptop. Sadly he passed away a couple of years back, and as yet, the club have been struggling to gain access to the updated list but have been working with his son to try to gain access.

The original information was held on the old forum which we lost a few years ago when it was targeted by hackers.

Some of this information was copied over to the new forum - https://www.series2club.co.uk/new_forum/index.php/topic,377.0.html which can be found on this forum by going to:
Historical Information
Vehicle Identification & Specifications
Chassis/Engine/Gearbox/Axle Serial Nos and Gaydon Dates.

For what it is worth, it's a spreadsheet rather than a database, so the searching / manipulation opportunities are limited
That said, it will be a useful source of data for the Club

Alex,
Is it worth us just trying to run the exercise again? It would be a very useful record even if it is anonymised. It could be especially useful for tracking down parts of stolen vehicles as well.

I'm not sure if Peter H actually has the laptop yet

If he has, yes, I agree, depending what the issue is, it might well be worth getting professional assistance.

if you do it again, it could be worth getting the line and build numbers if the people have that information too, see how close things were together

I would hope that if folk have these numbers, they will have provided them. (might not have been asked for though!)

How many actually have them I wonder ?
