Military part question?
« on: January 31, 2021, 12:20:43 PM »

Hello. What is this part please. I think it’s a cover for the 24 volt alternator?

Looks like the heatshield round the exhaust manifold on a 2.25 engine from what I can see. I don't remember a heat shield near the 24 Volt Generator, but might be wrong - I usually am!

Yes, it's a heat shield for a military engine.

Fits as shown in the photo.

Hi Terry, I do not want it. When you had it up on Ebay and mentioned in the description that you were unsure what it was I messeged through ebay to let you know what it was. Hope it helped.  :tiphat

I'm happy to take it if its still for sale, but although slightly younger in years and probably having smoked an equal volume of welding fumes, I think I'm a bit confused also!
PM me if its for sale and let me know how you want paying. I can sort this evening!

Silly question! What is being shielded from the heat on the Left Hand side of the engine?

You'd be surprised how hot the bulkhead and footwell area can get without it!

Not specifically military, and usually missing (same as the fan cowl) no doubt as past mechanics thought them unnecessary.
