I'm pleased to be able to say that as of this evening we've reached 2500 paid up members for the first time ever !!
That includes 124 members across the EU and another 125 members world-wide. Outside the UK the largest number are in the USA (58) and Australia (30).
Well done folks, keep nudging people to join, keep spreading the word. Hopefully Covid-19 will release its grip and we can resume more activities this year too !

There seems to be a lot of interest shown on the Facebook post regarding this. I’ll always big the club up on there to try and get the message out.

A big thank you to all involved in achieving this milestone!
But special thanks and recognition to Gene for the excellent job he’s doing….
Well done Gene!

^^^^ Its not down to me, I don't think. The key bit is that the "new" membership system makes it far easier to join and then renew, I think ?
The old system involved filling in paper applications, paper forms and cheques etc. Even with Paypal it needed a call to the Membership Secretary, reminders were posted out etc, a huge administrative job that Dave Snape really deserves a lot of credit for sticking with, he was spending DAYS a week doing the job ! Despite that I'm sure a fair few people just could not be bothered with the faff of posting forms etc and gave up. "Crossmember" automates a lot of that, the new member fills in the application online, pays using card, Paypal or sets up a Direct Debit - but can still post us a cheque if they like. They get an automated receipt of payment and a notification of their membership number, the system provides an Excel report with the details to print membership cards as a "mail-merge" - Dave made them all manually, one by one ! - and a similar report to post out Built 2 Last, then sends reminder emails automatically when it comes time to renew... Easier all round.
The Club then has this Forum, the Facebook and Instagram pages, all the wealth of information on the Website, an award winning Magazine in "Built 2 Last" and all the Club activities, social events, workshop meets, Shows, Rallies and the rest to attract and retain members... That's what grows the membership - so a big thanks to all those involved in all of that !

What good news!
When many forums are closing due to the migration of their members to other media, this is growing, quite an achievement, Congratulations to all who make up this wonderful site. :-*
More people interested in the Series II also means that there will be more people making parts to maintain them. :first

As a new member, the joining process was reasonably simple. The increasing numbers may also have something to do with covid restrictions and people spending more time on projects etc. Anyway, thanks for all your work.
