OT - MERLIN - not so hot...
« on: January 10, 2021, 01:34:18 AM »

OT but I put the VRN of the 110 Td5 I had during my second tour in Bosnia into MERLIN tonight. It shows up as a bit of bridging kit... fail.

Seen here on Route GULL, just south on of Baja Luka

Are you sure Merlin is not telling you, the 110 had to be "put over the weigh bridge" after you had finished with it ?  :-X

I've got a few images from that neck of the woods and still have the SFOR and IFOR route maps for BiH! I remember those winters...!
Used to run the Land Rover workshops in Sarajevo for a few years so Bosnia is still home from home!
Did you ever drive Route Clog? That's was the one done by the Dutch engineers - interesting to put it mildly!

Yes, I did, quite regularly. The drops into the river below were impressive, before adding snow and ice... It was our route to reach Sarajevo. I'd have been based at Mrkonjic Grad at the time. An earlier tour saw me based in Tuzla.

I was based in Mrkonjic Grad in 98, can't see any images of Landies there in my old photos but this was the collection at Krupa - part way between MG and Banja Luka if memory serves

Sorry about the image quality, its an old 35mm photo print that i have then took a picture of with my phone
