Standard Series Door Hinge Modification to Fit Wing Mirrors
« on: December 30, 2022, 10:35:11 PM »

Hi All,

Recently I have found a spare set of Front Standard Series Door Hinges and I am considering getting them modified to Fit Wing Mirrors. like the Military Series Hinges.

Does anyone know the person, I think it was a club member who for a fee will weld on the Wing Mirror attachment plate to Front Standard Series Door Hinges?

Thanks

Robin , have you ever come across a “ swing back “ type arm to fit in place of the standard arm ?

Hi Robin,

Many thanks for your info - I will sort out the hinges and be in touch, I am a fully paid up SII Club member, thanks

Regarding Betsy1969's question on 'Swing Back Door Mirrors'  Please see the attached photo, it is of a 1972 LWB Series III which had  Swing Back / Pivoting Door Mirrors which were attached by flat plated bracket which was fitted under the SIII Top Door Hinge.

Sorry about the clarity of the photo its old and zoomed in clip, As I no longer have the SIII, I just have SII 2 litre diesels.

Hi Andy,

No, I haven't, but then again I haven't really looked for them   :-[

I know they were available at one time, and were probably used on other vehicles as well, but I've not seen any from the usual suppliers.

If you do find any, perhaps you could post on here or on my original post in "For Sale" for others to see?
