Insurance coverage - Adrian Flux
« on: April 21, 2020, 11:44:14 AM »

I'm obviously on their mailing list, although they are not my current insurers.
After assuring me they were still open for business, their mail included their COVID-19 specific FAQs, which seem to cover all the options, giving positive answers in each case.
As it's positive news I thought they were worth sharing.

(Adrian Flux) are offering enhanced support to our customers who may be affected by coronavirus (COVID-19)

If you have to drive to your workplace because of the impact of coronavirus, your insurance policy will still be valid. You do not need to contact us to update your cover.
If you are using your own car for voluntary purposes to collect and deliver medicine or groceries to support people affected by coronavirus, your cover will not be affected and you do not need to notify us.
If you are an office based worker working from home due to self-isolation or because you have been ordered to do so by your employer, your home insurance will not be affected and you do not need to notify us.
If your work is critical to the national response to coronavirus and you need to use your own car to drive to different locations for work purposes, your cover will not be affected. You do not need to contact us to update your cover.

Please do not ask me insurance questions, I have no specialism in this subject.

Regards.

I noticed today that one insurer is giving a £25 rebate to their customers as there is less traffic on the roads and people are not using their cars so much.

£25 is very small beer when premiums can be hundreds of pounds - more of an advertising gimmick I think.

We have three cars on a fleet policy with Admiral, so getting £75 back will be very nice. They've also refunded the excess on my son's windscreen claim (one of the three) as he's a key worker.

And I've just received my LR insurance renewal from Footman James and it's 12.5% cheaper than last year (for one 88" on the road and another 88" in bits).

Hi,

My first insurance premium was £7-10s. I was 17 living in Croydon (South London). my "car" was a  1934 BSA three wheeler, two seater, sports car ... water cooled, 8hp, 4-pot engine driving the front wheels.

Prudential.

Just upped my vehicle valuation on annual renewal from £5k to £10k with Adrian Flux / Trinity Lane. But at the same time the chap on the phone asked if I was a member of any clubs and so I said yes, "Series 2 Club", and the 2 changes together made the policy quotation go DOWN. Thanks, S2C!

I’ve had a multi vehicle policy with footman James and their predecessors for over twenty years now. They were the only classic insurers that would give me class1 business insurance with unlimited mileage. When I went to renew on Monday, I found out that I was on the minimum premium and that the addition of the dormobile with an agreed valuation of 9k did not alter the premium! I now have three series 2s, a Morris minor convertible, a MG midget and an MGBGT V8 insured on one policy.

Hi,

Who is the "least po-faced" when it comes to "unconventionally" modified vehicles?
