Hi  :tiphat mine has single side lights/indicators on the front and have never experienced any issues with other drivers not noticing it and it’s my daily driver there were some comments regarding the legality of orange lenses on the front for both side lights and indicators and I’ve checked and have been assured they are legal ;)  :cheers Paul

Don’t know where you got that from.
I don’t believe any UK car has ever had orange side lamps.

I may be wrong, but in the 50's weren't they available on USA spec vehicles.  Indicator/side lamp in Orange, and rear in red.  Not sure when, but maybe up to current vehicles.

White is acceptable for front side/indicator lamps until late 1964.

I was under the impression that indicators had to flash at a certain rate to be legal but it could be that they could be permanently on and  flash off or off and flash on.

Funnily enough I saw a modern car with the indicators permanently on flashing off yesterday.

Many yonks ago (1950s or 1960s) I saw a Bentley (newish then) using a spot lamp as an indicator. There's posh!

A few 50s British cars had red rear indicators, Mk1 Jaguar is one that springs to mind. Moggies had trafficators fitted instead.

Moggies actually had three indicator setups at different times- trafficators first, then flashing white front, red rear using a relay unit to flash the appropriate brake light filament whether the brakes were on or not, finally orange front and rear with different lamp units.

Forget about confusing other road users - not an issue.

Just take a look at the bizarre lighting arrangements these LED lights offer today  :shakeinghead
The shapes/designs are all over the place  :shakeinghead
... and nobody is testing how bright they are.

Might look pretty, but *&%^$ confusing  :stars

So I can't believe the 1959 duel purpose front side lights are going to cause any accidents.
I like them, and that's how my '59er is going to be turned out.

After all, most drivers today don't use their indicators anyway  :thud
They have their fog lights on all the time ... and so on  :shakeinghead
