Presumably it this?

Yes that’s the one. There is also a 1-ton transkit too from a different supplier. I’ve got one of those too in my ‘to do’ pile! Pic is their prototype.

Who is that from? Obviously I'll have to get one and my mate with a 1 Ton wrecker will be wanting one too!

I saw that, just emailed them as I can probably provide info on the right axles etc. If someone did a hard top roof and the winch I could do a model of my own vehicle.

I have one of the Revell 1/24 scale 109" SW that I was going to convert into my IIA. It is a very good kit as it includes both the 10 seat and 12 seat layout so easy to make my 10 seat version. All it needs really is a 4 cylinder engine and off course the series IIA front end and sills. I'll have a look at that look and see what I can order to help the process.

The nicest RC models I've seen are from an American company called Boom Racing.
They have a couple of series III's hopefully coming soon and they do a leaf sprung chassis for it too. The webpage is not very intuitive though so don't despair if you can't find them.

Their Defender models look really good.

If you want to see some seriously nice model making check out a guy named Alexandr Agajanov on Facebook. Really impressive.

Just enquired about ordering the 1/24 Revell conversion set to the IIA, lights in the grill model 109" SW.
Think I'll have to do a hybrid kit as I still need the curved apron panel and series III style steering wheel and will need to fabricate the deep sills but, should be good fun.
Now all I need to do is make a 3D model of a 2286 petrol engine and get it on the 3D printer.  :coffee

Oh yes, web page given up. It was working when I posted that as I copied it straight from the address bar.
Too many series II owners looking at it...

Craig.

The transkit comes with the later curved apron, I cut it off mine and made the earlier flat one. You have to scratch build the sills too. The dash would be easy to fit the original kit steering wheel on so that isn’t a problem. I didn’t bother changing the engine as I’m building mine with the bonnet down so you won’t be able to see it anyway!

I think the Tamiya model is superior to the Italeri version.

I used the Tamiya Pink Panther as the basis of this 88 Rover 8 FFR but it is good to have a new kit

That's nicely done! I agree The Tamiya  is a better kit. Sadly the ambulance version is now rare and very expensive. The italeri kit is old and has many inaccuracies.

The Station Wagon looks good. I'm wondering how to get a deluxe bonnet to replicate mine...

My thoughts exactly!!!

Fortunately I have one of the ambulances in the stash of models for a rainy day. Cost me £8.99 from Beatties many years ago.

Tamiya are very good at waiting for many years then re-releasing their kits so you may get lucky in the near future.
