Thee chain hasn been fitted on that engine, you cannot set the valve timing when it is mounted on an engine stand.  That engine is 1600cc S1 Siamese engine.

The first engine that I posted is 1948 sideplarte engine and there is another block on the floor in front of it

Finished off repairing my tailgate on my 88in S1, it was full of cracks, on all the corners.  They have all had strengthening plates fitted and all the failed spot welds have been riveted. I'm pleased to say it now closes properly and fits really well, before the repairs it was quite distorted. The galvanising was poor too so I have painted it in a fairly dull silver paint. I'll go and say my hail marys now for the S1 content although there is a little S2 in there, just look at that cross member, that's another job for another day.

I had some leads made up for the dogs to secure them in the back. Fastened them to the central spare wheel point. They love driving along in the wind. It's a dog thing

Some pics, and did a few other things (Stainless steel grab handles with SS nuts and bolts this time) the old nuts and bolts were rusting, and it spoiled the look of them also going to drop the engine in on Monday, need the weight in, so I can put the shocks on, it's too light right now, and they won't reach, keeping the parabolic blue, I like them like that

A word of warning, the brake  pipe should run behind the brake pipe shield not between it & the axle. The check strap runs between the shield & the axle, the shield then stops it rubbing on the brake pipe.
