No S2 was built with a straight six AFAIK. The six was available as an option in the 2A from 1967, maybe the single wiper motor with rack came in then, too. My '70 2A (originally 2.25 petrol four) haste single motor setup. (And the cranked wiper arms to go with it.)

I'm well aware of that, but the model is not detailed enough to definitively be a series 2 rather than a IIA.
The single wiper motor/black dash/negative earth electrics were all introduced along with the 2.6 engine in 1967, no production sixes had twin wipers etc with the possible exception of the NADA station wagons.

That is looking nice.
I can see from the mouldings they include a plain bonnet, one with a wheel carrier, military front wing panels as well as civilian and a civilian and military rear crossmember. Might have to get one of those when they release it.

I see the new Revell 109" Series III has been released as well. They have copied the sample vehicle a bit too closely with a side opening, hinged tailgate and a tailgate window wiper but other than that, looks pretty good.

I ordered two of the AK interactive 88" IIA's. I got the station wagon and the recovery crane kits and ordered them direct from their webpage in Spain.

They are very nice. Small at 1:35 scale off course but way more detailed than any other Land Rover kit I have built in the past.

A few things I have noticed however....

The alternator / dynamo is huge on the engine and the drive belt arrangement is odd as in there is a belt that runs from the crank to the water pump then a second belt that goes from the water pump to the alternator.
The bulkhead outriggers have the angle brace at the front of them, easy to remove for earlier models.
The tropical roof panel on the SW version is an odd shape at the front section, that will need modifying I think. It gets wider at the front whereas the real thing is a rectangle shape so it just appears to flatten out at the front.
It has an overdrive.
It has a series III clutch release mechanism.

I guess they had to copy the sample vehicle that was in front of them and assume they took that apart during the process in order to get the details on the gearbox and engine shape.

All in all though, a great little model and should take a good few hours to put together. The etched brass sheet is very good too and the Land Rover badges and grill look very convincing.
I suspect a host of aftermarket resin and brass conversions / upgrades will come along soon as well.
