If I was buying a second hand gearbox without driving it and no guarantee my offer would offend, sorry, but I'm sure someone with a fair idea will be along soon

No probs, I know what you are saying, I know the box is good it came out of my truck due to an upgrade,
I wouldn’t want to sell it on if it wasn’t good as it will only come back on me.
But I do know what you mean.

1519 is 1959 model year but can't remember what fuel type or wheelbase. I think it's petrol, 109" but I really cannot be certain without looking it up. Someone who is after one will pay for it - a lot of owners, especially of earlier examples, like to have 'correctly' numbered components.

There's a different bellhousing for inlet over exhaust engines and OHV engines introduced with the S1 2 litre diesel.  The difference is the bolt pattern, boxes for ioe engines have bolts either side of the centreline at the top, and OHV engines have a centre bolt hole.

The box for the 2 litre petrol engine may olso have the S1 type of gearbox mounting  - which is made up with 2 rubbers, a big bolt and a distance tube, the later OHV type mounts being the usual mounts and wedges.  The gearbox 'feet' are also different.

If I'd buy a gearbox of unknown condition, I'd pay what the visible  parts are worth to me. Nuts and bolts, bell housing, serial number, mounting feet etc.
