I didn't find this recent Reddit post, but I did think it worth linking here.
Originally on Reddit, in the SeriesLandRover community. (https://www.reddit.com/r/SeriesLandRover)

Like it. :first
Craig.

Now I like this, flat pack too
-
I do like that - specially the military/ civilian touch with the end pieces
BUT
:shakeinghead It' s a ringer !!!!
got a later coiler type grill :-X :-X
-
That's not the grille, it's a full length roof rack :cheers
-
So I'm not the only Redditor here then.😉
Nice barbie btw.😎
-
I might just have to pinch the idea, draw my own components up in CAD and get them laser cut. I reckon I could add some more detail too like the Land Rover oval to the grille.
Would be good for camping as it could be flat packed again.

That looks a lot like the Nova Offroad one, but the Reddit one looks to be a little bigger.
-
No wonder they say old Land Rovers smoke....
-
That’s a great design. Replace the nova with Land Rover logo. Perfect.

Well, if we are expressing opinions;
The Nova uses the 'front' or radiator plate at both ends (obviously there is a commercial advantage).
I also think the size of the Nova logo a bit brash.
While I can see a 'sort' of 'Rover style' using the pull point shackles, I think a smaller size would be more in scale.
The Reddit version, I don't know the source, uses different front and rear view plates.
While they lack the pull point link I find the less obvious retaining pins to be more appropriate to the barbeque product.
While I have never bought a barbeque, I might be tempted if the Reddit style was available, just for the smile factor. I appreciate the curve of the bonnet line, and the inclusion of the front and rear sidelights, the inclusion of the bumper, and axle profiles, plus the rear crossmember with PTO hole.
I would never buy the Nova version.
I do accept that I'm not really the ideal target market for this style of product. :-)

Never understood the attraction of home BBQs ...
I can burn the food perfectly well in the comfort of my kitchen ... :essen

Mick Outhwaite makes and sells them -

Here are a few more opinions.
I have a pic around here of another SIII that was turned into a hot tub and grill combo - the tub section became the hot tub, the engine bay was the grill section, and the front seat area was a bar and entertainment center for the hot tub. IIRC, the hot tub one pictured is part of an Air B&B there in the UK.

Well said. Exactly my thoughts too. Having lived in Australia for a few years I never want to see another bbq again.
(Ducks and runs for cover).
I do like the look of these Land Rover bbqs, but would not buy one.

Wittsend and 34058 - I entirely agree!
In my case many years eating of barbeques and braais in Africa have largely put me off the idea of toasted (charcoal on the outside but undercooked on the inside) food being cooked outside. I thought we'd evolved on from that.
Mind you - some retailers here still sell chicken out of a bucket, so perhaps evolution hasn't moved as far forward as I think.
My turn to duck and run for cover... :neener

Actually a good braai runs rings round a barbeque... There... that should trigger an interesting debate...
-
Love my gas BBQ, use it all year round.
I stand out there with an umbrella in winter! Sausages taste better and you don't fill your kitchen with smoke.

I suspect you might be pitching stones into a small pond.
I have minimal experience of barbque cooked food, but zero experience of braai cooked food, or even what constitutes a braai.
Perhaps research could solve the second shortfall, but as for the shortcomings of the cooked food; doesn't the competance of the operator have a big influence?
If they are needed, apologies for hitting your ball with a straight bat :-)

This could run and run!
True on the chef's cooking ability. Is there a link between the majority of Barbeque / Braai chefs being male and the quality of the output? Methinks we should be told...
A braai and a barbeque are similar in concept, but I have a braai which I made after a working a few years in Zimbabwe. Its simple - a concave plough disc with the centre hole welded up. A hot gas flame or charcoal heat source underneath which evenly heats the disc in a similar way to a wok. The difference being that the plough disc is thicker so retains heat better. Cook a boerewors on that and it takes lot of beating. It's also a heart attack on a plate.

Or poisoned by undercooked chicken, burgers, bangers, fish, etc etc......... :shakeinghead
No lovers of barbecues here either. SWMBO can't stand the "burnt" charcoal taste.
-
Likewise here. The acrid smoke from the neighbours' burnt offerings is bad enough.
Does it contribute to "climate change?"
-
Bad enough having good food exposed to an open bonfire, but then people drown everything in barbecue sauce. >:(
-
I like the flat pack design for taking car camping(ne: overlanding).
I don't knowhow/when, but the car camping crowd over here is calling braai's, a skottle.
So a short excursion to wiki, braai is what we call a bbq, skottle is Afrikaans for plate.

Can’t believe how many people don’t like BBQs.
Here’s one of my favourites. Spicy marinaded chicken kebabs wrapped in smoky bacon.
Doesn’t it look good?!

Is BBQing not a thing in the UK? It's a big deal here in most parts of tge States. We have a charcoal grill, a propane grill (Don't care for it) a setup for a small, campfire size grill in our backyard and a big one for large, bonfire sized ones that would be big enough to cook a whole hog or small cow.

Yes it jolly well does and it’s making me very hungry.

Here’s the recipe. :-*
https://bbqpitboys.com/blogs/recipes/bacon-chicken-sticks (https://bbqpitboys.com/blogs/recipes/bacon-chicken-sticks)
I use smoked streaky bacon instead of back bacon (2 strips per stick) and marinade the chicken before putting it on the sticks. It’s messier but easier to fit in the bowl.
Bit of salad and some blue cheese dressing and it’s a winner.
:cheers
