Spotted this nice example this morning.
Anyone on here?
-
Is it a 11a or a 111 with 11a grille :whistle
but very nice :first
-
Suffix says 2A, but I didn't want to start mooching around in someones carport to have a closer look.
I'll be back there later, but it may be dark by then.
-
Bitsa.
-
Don't judge. :-X
-
O/T but a very strong garage door frame, could be used with a chain block for engine changes :whistle
-
Spotted today sadly dying (dead?) in a garden (apologies for hijacking the thread).
-
Don't apologise, keep 'em coming! :cool :first
-
Will do Uncle Kev!!
-
I spotted an albino Dalmatian yesterday....
….it was the least I could do.
Boom boom.

:-X :-X :-X I quite liked that.

Christmas crackers opened early! :-X

Behave yourselves before Mr. End comes along and starts deleting stuff. :-\

My eyes went straight to the door frame too!
-
Spotted today whilst looking at the church on Goooogle maps. - Nice patina. :cool
-
The number plate blanker doesn't work too well on old silver on black plates, does it?
Here's an (old) shot of a couple of my cars (not Landrovers though).
-
It tickles me on tv programmes when they tape up or obscure manufacturers badges on steering wheels than show an arty external shot with the vehicle and badges plain for all to see.
-
Can we stick to pics of Series motors please? ;)
-
Can we stick to pics of Series motors please? ;)
^^^^^ he does say "watching you"
just like big brother :whistle
-
Were they a series of Trabants ???
-
I spotted a series of demining machines on Thursday. Which was nice.
-
Google street view blurring does not always work too well. A friend was out walking her dog just down the road from where we live when the camera car went by. The dog's face is blurred out, hers is not!!!! :-X

Spotted today in a South Leics. supermarket.
Ex mil 2A, lights in grille, with an 'L' reg. plate.
Excuse the abysmal pics. :-[
Anyone on here?
-
L suffix so 1973 demob, is silver on black permissible so late ???
My first reflective plated was a '66 Moggy Minor, D suffix :stars
-
In the words of Ian Dury, "Break a few rules." :tiphat
-
That plate certainly suits the vehicle better than reflective :first
-
It’s the date it was built that matters for black and white plates not the date it was registered.
Plus it’s now rolling with the 40 historic tax thing so cars from 1980 can switch to black and white plates.
:cheers
-
My 71 K is on original reflective blummels, I think at some point it came down to dealer preference and to some extent trends of the time.
The 1980's stamped/pressed alloy plates had a sligthly squarish font.
I saw a late 80's 110 that had black/white plates and stood out like a saw thumb. I spoke to the driver and the glint in his eye showed he knew that he should not have them on. He said they look cool though dont they, no particularly I replied. Had a nice galv chassis though.
-

Hi,
I agree with that statement.
In 1971, I bought a brand new Moskvitch van. the cheapest thing on four wheels. A smidgen over £600. I wish I had it now. It would comfortably pull my Sprite Alpine down the M4 at 70mph. Did I read recently, that Moskvitch used a 1600cc BMW engine, or a copy thereof? I think the Neval flat-twin motorcycles were also BMW "inspired".
Whatever, my new van came with B&W plates. Other new cars were driving out of their showrooms with those desirable, (then), colourful plates.
602
PS
Hmmm! 1600cc and 80bhp, a huge alluminiun lump that pulled like a train.
-
Stamped plates whether black and white or white front yellow rear have the advantage of being robust.
Fleet users like bt used them for instance.
The plates that use individually attached plastic letters (with spider washers as i know them) can crack due to age or a moderate impact.
The front when mounted on the separate number plate mount is especially vulnerable, I moved mine to the radiator grill so that it was more in board away from harm. Secretly I just like having the option of sitting on the bumper between the wings and it was in the way!
-
Quite so ...
The Land Rover, being seen as a utility work vehicle were more often than not, fitted with pressed plates. Which as posted ^^^ are less susceptible to damage.
:RHD
-
Seen it times but never been able to snap it.
Anyone here?
-
Nice example. :cool
-
So you're still out "spotting" kev ???
-
So you're still out "spotting" kev ???
Not at the moment, at home now and I've just enjoyed a chinese for my tea. :essen
- Out spotting again on Monday! :tiphat
(By the way, I've just put all my dogging gear on Ebay, no bids yet, but 14 people watching... :-X)
-
A nice double spot on a rather damp Monday morning.
-
You're a Landy magnet kev! :first
-
Very nice spot today. :cool
-
Spotted Monday.
(Lying on it's side, apparently...)
-
There's an article in this month's CLR magazine about the grey Station Wagon in your penultimate photo.
-
There's an article in this month's CLR magazine about the grey Station Wagon in your penultimate photo.
I've seen it driving around a couple of times, and I think it won a prize at Leafers.
- Never spoken to the driver though.
-
Another spot
-
A nice double spot on a rather damp Monday morning.
The front one has the indicators and side lights on the front the wrong way round, just like ed china put the stage 1 together on wheeler dealers.
-
Good spot yourself 2286 !
-
Re 2286's comment about front lights being upside down... I've got some original promo literature from the Stage 1 launch and I note that in the original press brochure photos, they put them upside down on that too!
-
I did wonder if it varied depending on destination market, but if its uk or home market brochure then that theory is a non starter.
-
As it happens, I think the brochure I looked at is a generic publicity brochure for Land Rover from I think about 1979 / 1980. The image shows a left hand drive, so its possible that its an image of an export model. I work with Land Rovers all over the world and I've never seen the lights this way round, but I'm wondering if its an image from a North American publicity shot. They always have had different lighting regs. from the rest of the planet...
-
Only thing is that I don't think Land Rover sold Series vehicles in North America after the very early 1970s
-
Off topic I know but thought it was a nice 1928 Ford A type
-
Nice, shame it wasn't chugging along under it's own power tho....
-
The tow vehicle had Irish plates so guess it was off to Ireland.
-
Looks to have had racing numbers on it at some point too
-
I didn’t notice that but have just looked up the two names on the side of the car and it shows them and the car as an entry in the Irish Racing Green’s Shamrock Vintage Car Rally. Looks quite challenging.
-

It is because of the American lighting regulations of the late sixties that the indicators go at the bottom (they required a larger diameter lamp). As I understand some of the old hands on the line who were used to the military set up would put the indicators at the top. Look at the 1969 publicity photos for late style 11a's and you will see the same :stars
-
Spotted yesterday. Sorry its not a Series, some of you like fire engines though.
-
Spotted yesterday. Sorry its not a Series, some of you like fire engines though.
Looks like a nice honest unpressed early 110 hi cap.

Still trying to contact the owner of this.

Spotted in ... anyone on the Forum?

"Spotted" on TV :shakeinghead ( Well I AM in lockdown ???)
Very early grey "Meccano" looking truck cab at the start of the Vanguard ad.
Desperate? You bet :thud

Spotted today in Last Of The Summer Wine.
In a howling continuity error, Wesley's 88" turned from a 3 to a 2, within five minutes of the same episode.

Although I’m yorkshire born and bred , and always lived here , I know that shell station well. I used to go there when collecting cars from the Audi garage which used to be opposite, now Skoda I think .
-
Yep, now a Skoda garage. Audi moved half a mile down the hill to a brand new swanky showroom.
I’m from Yorkshire too but have been down here far too long.

It is on drama on Freeview every weekday night about 19.20

I've seen a trailer for Brassic (some show on Sky!) that features a S2, but I can't find that particular trailer on Google.
I don't have Sky. Apparently, even if you have Sky TV, you still get Sky adverts ...
-
Back to work this week, so busy spotting. :first
Spotted today, a nice 88".
-
Spotted today looks well used.
-
It's good to see your lockdown has released sufficiently to go spotting now kev ???

I'm back at work now, so I'm out and about scouring the highways and byways every day. :RHD

Alongside the B4265 today.
Builder/handiman by the look.
Australian one at that too :whistle
-
Last of the Summer Wine is on Drama Freeview channel 20 every weekday at 7.20pm. Wesley's current Land Rover is a Q plate Series 3 LWB pick up although in earlier episodes he drove a Series 2/2A.
-
made a comment but changed my mind ;)
-
Australian one at that too :whistle
Click the numbers, whatever they’re called, brings it up correctly.
-
No pics but I spotted a 2 near Kirby Muxloe Leics, yesterday morning around 09:05.
I did flash and wave but I was in an inferior model of Land Rover... :-[
-
You need a sticker..."My other car is a........"
-
spotted in west sussex, 67 2a but looks like a bit of a bitsa and early 70s caravan with period style awning or portaloo
-
Saw several at the weekend, indeterminate Series but the only one to buy on site was an abominable £150 new "Defender"!
-
The council need to sort out that ruddy great pothole outside the garage... >:(
-
It's a "scale" pothole isn't it ? OO ???
-
Definitely to scale, paint job on the 2CV in the garage is a bit lumpy too! ;)
-
I’m so excited! Spotted a Series 2 today.
Anyone know who owns this beauty?

Camouflage shop?

Camouflage shop?
The product he sells is not working on his fine series though :whistle

Camouflage shop?
He's in the bushes.
-
I was imagining Monty Pythons art of not being seen!
The Land Rover seems familiar, maybe I saw it in a magazine?
-
Whoever it is, he/she does not know how to secure the canvas properly :shakeinghead
-
Common that, it looks like a fairly new canvas too, it wont last long like that.
Peter
-
If it’s still there on the way home I’ll leave a club leaflet under the wiper.
-
Good idea
Peter

Leaflet left. ;)

Hi there, out of interest what is wrong with the way it’s secured? I have new 3/4 tilt arriving any day for my SWB truck cab and I haven’t ever fitted one before, so any guidance would be appreciated.
-
Think it’s a reference to the side fixing on the rear flap not being tucked through its little pocket before going into the buckle. Stops it becoming a parachute at “speed”.
Must admit I sometimes do it as above when I’m just quickly putting the flap down to keep rain out when parked so it’s no biggie.
:cheers
-
I saw a nice 109 Station Wagon , marine blue parked in a small car park on Oakenshaw Lane Wakefield yesterday ( or Tuesday ) F reg. Anyone on here ? Possibly Robin ?

It also looks as though the rope isn't tucked under the securing tabs on the tailgate.
We don't know, of course, if this is temporary while loading etc, and would be properly secured before driving off.

Evening All.
That was my S2a.
Thanks for the flyer Odd Job.
I’d actually joined the club during the first lock down, but life has been so manic this is the first chance I’ve had to jump on here.
Regarding the hood...was being lazy in between local trips. All as it should be now.
Looking forward to chatting rust and crunching!

Oh and I don’t run a camouflage shop 😂....I’m Chiswick Auctions👨⚖️

Hi Matt, sorry for stalking you!

Hello and welcome! Is that the Chiswick Auctions which appears from time to time on Antiques Road Trip?

No worries Odd Job...I’m just as bad at stalking Land Rovers. Have been known to ‘go the long way around’ on many occasions to catch another glimpse of something I’d spotted previously!
Hey Alec. Yes, that’s the one. Although the last time we were involved with television was at least 7-8years ago, so anything you’re seeing is pretty old. And I’m a bit more grey and tired looking 😂

Ha!
Well when all this Covid nonsense is over, take her for a trip in the landy and I’ll give you a tour of the auction house...she can jump up on the rostrum and see what it feels like to bash a gavel! 👍

I’ll be down, I’m only up the road in Ealing
I showed my wife the picture of your Series 2 and she said “That’s lovely, why doesn’t yours look like that!”

Spotted this today, I've seen it about a few times but only today got a good look at it and spoke briefly with the owner. Seems to be in daily use. The roof rack is ex-SEB bit the landrover isn't.

Very, Very nice :first

Not wanting to be a killjoy but it has been pointed out to me (and after a good think) we perhaps shouldn't be giving any locations away, particularly if parked on someone's drive or outside the house. No problem on the open road, or the M25.
Several forum members have had their vehicles stolen in the recent past.
Our Land Rovers are not taken on impulse. The thieves have done their homework.
No one is saying that they use our forum to pick targets, but lets not give it to them on a plate.
Keep the pictures coming in, they often generate some interesting comment, but lets not give too much away about the location.
Mind how you go.
:xmas_wreath
-
I don't consider what I typed to be a location.
I'm not stupid.
-
... and neither are the thieves.
-
Apologies all.
It was me who raised the point with Wittsend. It follows a comment made by a close friend of mine who is a senior serving police officer who just who happens to head up a team targeting international vehicle crime. He's considering doing a Series 2 restoration and at my suggestion was looking at the forum. He just said that we should be careful. As he's one of the good guys trying to stop this rubbish happening, so we don't want to unintentionally make it easier for our less than honest brethren. This wasn't aimed at anybody in particular. As Wittsend says - just a reminder to all of us that what gets on this forum can be read by all types.
I thoroughly enjoy this thread and the comments it raises, so keep 'em coming in my view!
-
I think pictures of them when parked on the public road is one thing, when parked off road on a private drive and posting on a public forum probably does cross a line I wouldn't be happy with if the vehicle was mine.
-
I spotted a very “patinated “ 109 with side windows and tailgate / cat flap in different colours going up the M74 a few days ago , he was loaded up inside with all sorts of who knows what and easily doing a fair bit over 60mph . I was in my ford ranger towing a trailer with a white van on the back , doing a constant 60 on cruise control and he passed me at a decent lick. Anyone on here ?
-
Spotted this nice 88" on the way to work this morning, in Nottinghamshire.
:cheers
-
What is the current legal position regarding parking partially or wholly on a pavement?
I ask as whilst this is avoiding obstructing busy roads it does obstruct pedestrians and those with prams or wheel chairs as well as those blind or partially sited.
A friend of mine was prosecuted for parking like this (in Wales) some years ago :wooly-jumper
-
:can_of_worms
No body knows and no body enforces the rules equally across the UK :shakeinghead
Depends where you live.
:xtree
-
As Wittsend says, it depends where you live.
London it's against local bylaws.
So if its on the pavement a ticket can be issued straight away.
Not sure which other county's also enforce this in Uk.
Everywhere else it needs.
The police to witness you driving onto and getting out of the vehicle, or in and driving off, before they can do anything about it.
As they need to see who drove it on and off the pavement.
In which they mostly don't bother doing anything as they do it themselves most of the time lol.
:cheers
-
Anyroad, back to the ‘spotted’ thread.
JF is an old Leicester plate, and I’m sure I’ve seen that 88” somewhere before.🤔
(Ray: You poor soul, having to work Boxing Day.)
-
JF may be an old Leicester plate but since it's very unlikely that any A suffix JF plates were issued in 1963 that's either a recent "age related" plate for a '63 vehicle or an older random plate issued after a reg transfer or other problem.
-
I think a few councils were using up old non-suffix registrations for a while before changing over, my ‘64 has no suffix.
Have a look here:
https://www.nationalnumbers.co.uk/dvla-guide/year-of-issue-149.htm
-
sorry to go back , but parking on the pavement is against the 1980 Highways Act if it obstructs the right to pass and repass.

sorry to go back , but parking on the pavement is against the 1980 Highways Act if it obstructs the right to pass and repass.
Looked this up as it's major problem here, not illegal to park on the pavement. But illegal to drive on it. Work that one out.
-
Its illegal here. Has been for a while.
-
It's legal to drive on the pavement in the US because there, the pavement is the road and the sidewalk is the pavement. They also sit on their fannies rather than their bums, otherwise it would imply that they were using homeless people as seats. :stars
-
I swear I used to see that *JF reg 88" quite often when I lived in Nottingham, which is now knocking on 20 years ago...
-
Whilst I think it is illegal to park on the pavement in the UK as said above, it must be legal to drive across the pavement as most of us have to if we are to access a driveway or garage, if we were lucky enough to have that option ???
(Not Spotted today so OT - Sorry, but it is Christmas :snowman-1)
-
I swear I used to see that *JF reg 88" quite often when I lived in Nottingham, which is now knocking on 20 years ago...
Your right.
I used to pass it 20 plus years ago, and it was at the same house, but in those days always on the drive,
I passed this morning and no sign of it.
I may be wrong but I wonder it it's been passed down in the family and only returns now and then?
Where in Notts did you live.

Spotted today, somewhere in Warwickshire. (1,200 sq. miles, so not a location.) :neener

Gents, maybe I can offer a bit of advice regarding photos, location and getting cars stolen.
Most cameras today record EXIF data with the photo. This tells when it was taken, what kind of camera, its settings, and where the picture was taken. A clever person can use this to his advantage. For example, try this website and use it to open the photo I'm attaching. It will show my 2A on Snow Bear Lane. Spooky, eh?
https://www.pic2map.com/
How to get rid of this EXIF data and preserve your privacy? There are many ways. Here's a good tutorial: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/3-ways-to-remove-exif-metadata-from-photos-and-why-you-might-want-to/
:tiphat
-
Yep, it's not hard when your jpg includes this information:
Unless you disable it, every image you take and share includes your precise time and GPS location, and often your name as well. So you need to be aware of this when sharing pictures of your vehicle in it's "out of the way" workshop or location that you think is "secret" and "private". Not if you publish that information!
I have wondered before if forum platforms might have a feature that automatically strips personal and location data from images, but most don't. I tried an experiment some time ago on this forum with an image, and also on another non-LR-related forum. Both appeared as the original submitted file with all the EXIF data still included.
So, generally, these days I just use the windows "Snipping tool" to make an entirely new grab of the image from my screen, which just basically saves the raw image. But as Nanuq says there are other ways.
-
Every day - yet another learning curve... Thanks for pointing this out. I knew that all digital images have data attached, but somehow automatically assumed that this disappeared on a forum upload. Lesson learned - thank you!
-
Spotted in the film One Hour To Zero.
This 59’er seems to have fallen off the radar in 1982.
They probably stripped it down for the film, but couldn’t get that last doortop off... :-X

That monstrosity has been around for a while but it wasn't painted that tasteful shade of green.
I don't think it has a Land Rover chassis under it.

Hope your well.
I thought I had seen it before knocking around.

Hope your well.
I am still recovering from major surgery, but now able to do odd jobs on the old heap. Having not driven it for more than a month, the battery made pancakes look obese and I was convinced it was a gonner, but it has now charged up again. I am hoping to be able to drive it again in a couple of weeks, so could make this page!

Hi All
Think I seen Jim this morning hanging onto his steering wheel, going around the mini island on Kilburn / Nottingham Road Belper this Morning.
All shining and looking good Jim.

Simon.

Saw this tidy 109" in Worcester today.

On the A500 or A50 around Stoke on Trent today. A swb station wagon in pastel green with limestone roof. G reg and looking very nice but sporting a Series 3 bulkhead.

^^^^Needs to get out more... :-X

Hmmm, there's at least one duplicate in the different makes count! The minivan (Is this actually a car anyway?) will be either an Austin or a Morris and there's an Austin A30 and a Morris Minor in the picture.
:-\
-
How many 109 2 Door soft tops are in the photo?? Look very closely.
-
Does that 88 have a strange door top extension just below the glass, and is it a one piece windscreen ?, can't see a central bar on zoom.
Simon.
-
Dunno about the door, maybe a reflection.
But I definitely agree about the screen though.

Spotted on the LR4X4 Forum (https://forums.lr4x4.com/topic/110160-dare-we-call-this-a-winch/?tab=comments#comment-1007811).
The OP thinks it is a Series II / IIA, and I concur. To my eyes it's also a LHD 88" Station Wagon with a wire spoked steering wheel, and twin wiper motors!
It's the personalised design elements which make it worthy of mention - the electric winch, including the fairlead, the winch drum, and the recovery points.
The two pictures:

Went to Statfold Railway Museum and noticed this in the Roundhouse, Drive to unsprung rear wheels and a pivoted sprung bogey on the front . Cow catcher either end.
-
To add to my earlier post (Reply #181), some more pictures have come to light.
There is a cover for the winch.

The OP on LR4X4 says he is not buying it, but "Feel free to sent me £ 3000 and I'll buy it on your behalf, store it for you here in order to collect it later this year. ".
'Here' is 'Hidden somewhere deep in the dark Auvergne....'.

Spotted a very nice 2a in Mallorca today in sage (?) green, diesel, full tilt. Very smart. Is that anybody on the forum? Didn’t manage a photo
-
Exceedingly rare - so rare I had to take a pic - to see one of these in south london. Nice that it's in truck cab/ open pick up configuration too.
-
I remember seeing a Land Rover in London on the one way system past Earl's Court to the Embankment. It was a 110 Station Wagon reg 0S 05 LOW parked in the drive of a house.
-
Coil sprung? - How very dare you. :-\
-
Apologies. It was the registration number that caught my eye.
-
To make amends I have seen regularly a G suffix 2A SWB soft top parked on the side of the road in Monxton, a village a couple of miles south of Andover, Hampshire.
-
A Series 2A featured in an episode of Endeavour we watched this evening. MFV 264G is taxed until 1/10/22. Does it belong to a member. It's a very smart blue SWB hardtop with a front mounted electric winch.

Get some pics up, even off the telly.

I don't know how to put pictures on the forum as I'm mechanical and computer technology is way beyond my comprehension. I can email pictures from my phone but only one at a time.
It's no good explaining it as I won't understand. I'm blissful in computer ignorance.

Saw this very tidy 88" a few days ago.
-
^^^ Yes, VERY tidy but do the indicator repeaters spoil it a little ???
or is it just me...... but I wish mine was half as good

June 58 registered!

O So 5low. Good plate!
Saw this very tidy 88" a few days ago.
Very nice. I bet it's called Womble.

Seen in 'Only When I Larf' on Talking Pictures - in the Lebanon, apparently...always nice to see a 109".
-
Oops double posted one photo instead of this one:

Just spotted this beauty right outside my house!
Anyone know it?
Perhaps my wife has bought it for me… but I doubt it!
-
Spotted today, in the ‘burbs of Leicester.
DBG 88” ragtop near the racecourse, what stood out were the yellow wheels and the yellow lifting eyes on the bumper.
No pics unfortunately as I was driving.
-
heading out across the mendips this morning, caught up with and followed a couple of S2s. ... one was reg TRP...G, the other a 6no plate starting 00 (no pics as i was driving).
Guys, If you're on here - Hi.
-
That was us!!!!
Sussing out a route for the rally.
If you have a working LR, you could join us for the Christmas Pudding run ... PM me for details.

Spotted today, in North Leicestershire, a nice old 109” that appears to be still earning it’s keep.
- Anyone on here?
-
MoT history reckons it's a "90"! Nah, it's a shortened "110" :-* :cool
-
Sorry it’s a series 3 but it did have the happiest, wave-iest child in the back
Spotted this morning in Norfolk.

Lovely pic ^ Oddjob. :first
I was wedged in the back of my wife’s mini convertible wishing I was in my Land Rover!
The little girl in the series 3 was laughing her head off waving at everyone. Made my day.
-
Spotted yesterday.
The original, or a replica? - You decide…😁
-
Hummer ???
-
Slimmer
-
Hummer ???
Nah, Italian Job.
PS: Thanks Martin.🏆
-
If its not the original, its a nice replica.
-
https://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/blog/opinion/forgotten-film-car-the-italian-job-land-rover-series-iia
Looks like the original...
-
Whilst the registration matches, several other points don't, it is either a replica displayed with the original number or the original vehicle completely rebuilt and ad the last recorded colour on DVLA was for a blue vehicle in 1992 given the patina I favour the former
-
I take it that its not owned by a S2C member then?
Probably don't want to dig too deep into its provenance, but its always been one of my favourite LR film vehicles.
-
There was a replica built quite a few years ago and was featured in one of the Landrover mag at the time.
-
OK, I’ll let on.
It’s really an E reg., the Italian Job reg. is just a show plate.😁
-
Spotted today on the green in Beaumaris
-
Yes ... I can see 6 spot lights.
:stars
-
The nearside one on the front bumper looks like it's been full of water. I wonder if there's a relay or two to operate them.
-
There was a S2C sticker under the visor. Does it belong to anyone on here?
I also saw a immaculately restored S3 bombing down the A55 on the way home.
-
My daughter saw this one in Placerville, Calif. Built by Timm Cooper, probably has an LS engine and 4whl disc brakes.
-
I saw a S2 towing an Ifor Williams trailer in Tywyn last week (working for its living). I thought the dash cam would have picked it up - but it wasn't powered up!
-

Italian Job Reg.....
OT but the reg no struck a chord in my forgettory- my J4 in Snowdonia, 1987
-
Loving the Dolly Sprint. Have driven both. Have to sat Dolly drives better😁😁
-
The Dolly belonged to a work colleague. It was sheer coincidence that both our families were on holiday in North Wales and ended up at the same pub one lunchtime.
-
Another fan here of the Triumph Dolomite Sprint.
I had a new one in British Racing Green.
As a young man, I nearly killed myself twice in it..... :agh
-
Maybe there should be a Series 2 Club wave for when we spot a Land Rover and are in our Euroboxes
-

View much the same today (if you ignore the cars)

Spotted today in St Paul, Antigua

Which ones the Leafer?🤔
-
Not quite "today", but here's a nice shot of a bunch of us who headed in convoy to the Kilbroney Vintage show in Rostrevor, Northern Ireland last weekend.
There was a pretty good representation of other Series (and not-so-Series) Land Rovers throughout the rest of the show (one of the largest in Europe, by some accounts - capped registration at 1000 vehicles) More photos from the rest of the show at https://photos.smugmug.com/Events/Kilbroney-2022

He's got a few pretty rare and unique vehicles stashed away in that field.

I found 2 Glenfrome soft top Range Rover Classics there when I was supporting the LR dealer then some years ago. The Caribbean does have some interesting LRs rattling about.
-
Which ones the Leafer?🤔
Every tree and bush in the pic is a leafer....
Looks like a leaf-sprung Land Rover right at the back, in front of the black building.
-
Passed a D reg 88 just coming off the A14 on to A11 northwards. Roof rack loaded - coming for a holiday in Norfolk?
-
Very tidy 88” spotted in the ‘burbs of Leicester.
Anyone on here?🤔
-
Spotted in darkest Warwickshire.
(Please ignore the inferior vehicle😳)
-
For me, in Scotland, not just 1 (rare enough), but !2! Series 2's today. Both seen while on a cycle ride. Very different conditions though.
First one (2 images) is a very sad looking ? ex military S2A ? It has an "M" plate but I think it is much older than that. VIN plate says 2411XXXX. MOT database says "Colour Green Fuel type Diesel Date registered 31 December 1965". I came across this well off the beaten track. Some usable aluminium parts like seatbox, the tub looks good, and the hard-top is A1. Glazing in windscreen nice. Apart from that it's finished? Diesel engine (seized I suppose). I took some more pictures, so if anyone is really interested I can tell you where it is, and it might be possible to work out who it belongs to.
Second one (third image) (B reg) is still earning its keep! :jock
-
^^^^Crinan boat yard?
-
Yup. I met the chap's wife driving that one a year or two back. Apparently he'd very proud of it (rightly).
I wouldn't have posted about that one, but the contrast with the one I found earlier in the day was so great, it seemed worthwhile.
The first one makes me sad :(
-
Spotted today outside Holy Loch Marina.
-
Hi just seen a nice 1968 swb in bronze green on the car park in saundersfoot
-
Not S2 but I saw a very nice G ** WAC Disco 1 in ( I think ) Sandbach services a few days ago with a car trailer and another vehicle on it. Didn’t take note what the other car was as I was drooling too much over the Diso. It looked either very well preserved or re- furnished. I noticed that the driver and passenger were sitting inside , obviously they weren’t about to leave it unattended.

G...WAC Disco's are sought after and preserved, as they are factory registered launch vehicles.
This FB group are all over them, and other factory vehicles.

Wouldn't be surprised if the owners of the one you spotted are on there.

A Series 2 I’ve spotted before but back then it was red!
It’s a nice cheerful colour on a winters day.

London parking... My sister lives in that neck of the woods. Sometimes I think I need a tin opener to get out parking spaces.
-
Not much snow down there ... :snowman-1
-
Nope, quite a nice day today. :cheers
-
Spotted the other day on a dog walk.
-
Spotted this beauty near me today. The tyres were huge, I guess they are 900’s?
Anyway, it looked lovely. :first
