I said ‘finished’   I’ve been on it a few days really. Brew every 30 mins, lots of contemplation, you know how it is. 😉

Starter off, ( Hi Torque  type) trigger wire connection tightened up, replaced. Hopefully that solves the intermittent starting issue.

Removed the hard top and back body.  Contemplated renewing the tub supports, one of which fell off the tub as it was being lifted away.

Ordered bushes and assorted bits from Blanchards at about 11.30. Email confirming despatch by Royal Mail, recorded delivery 4pm.

Top Class service.

Edited to add: A further email this evening, confirming delivery is expected on Weds. If it arrives in Callander on time Paul the Postie will generally be here about 12.30, so effectively a 48 hour service.

Received the package from PA Blanchards, new bushes for the front springs and some other bits. Just under 48 hours from placing the order, everything on the list delivered to Perthshire. Impressive service that several other on-line operators should try to match !

Slightly OT but having having started feeding "Big Bales" to the cattle again, on wet ground, I thought I'd try to improve on dragging them about in the trailer...and getting stuck. On the principle of "Improvise, Adapt and Overcome" I stuck a large shackle through the accident damaged 90 roof I've been hanging on to and turned it into a sled... works really well !   Next thing I need to do is sort out getting a ring-feeder over the bale, to save waste.

Good to hear the positive feedback about Blanchards, as a townie I'm staggered at your work feeding those magnificent beasts  :first

Today I replaced the front seats with Defender seats, a very easy job, just bolted them in. I found myself committing a typical PO cock up, another PO had replaced the bolts with slightly bigger metric bolts which needed the original holes drilling. I think the existing drivers seat has a non standard base which uses different holes than the Defender seat uses so one pair of holes on the drivers side had not been drilled out and wouldn't take the larger metric bolts. My choice was to either drill out the holes to accept the metric bolts or use smaller bolts so I have used one pair of 1/4" UNC bolts and the rest were the bigger metric bolts. I will change them all to UNC at some stage in the future (probably). Before I started the job I promised myself I would store the existing seats so that I can replace them in the future should I decide to however after sitting in the new seats for 10 minutes I know I will never take them out again.
