Current scrap metal prices - slightly OT.
« on: October 19, 2021, 01:13:59 PM »

Hi guys,

After hoarding my scrap for a few years because the price was so low, I decided to take advantage of a 2ton tipper trailer I'd borrowed for another job, and weigh my scrap in.

Current price paid is £135/ton at our local place, and as I had just over a ton I got £137.70 transferred to my account   :cheers

If I'd taken it in 3 years or so ago, I might have only got around £35.

Prices do fluctuate quite quickly, so now might be a good time if you've got any scrap metal laying around   :tiphat

Cheers,
Robin.

Sussex prices

I got £210 per ton for light iron 2 weeks ago, now down to £180 p/t, £450 p/t for batteries and £250 p/t for a "dirty aluminium" gearbox (don't worry it wasn't a Land Rover one).

Copper ranges from £5000 to £6000 p/t depending on how clean it is and Brass is £2800 p/t.

Good luck

Yea. Good alli prices the other day as well. I got £570 for 42 land rover alloys and £19 for each old radiator. Happy days.
