Can anyone give me an idea how much extra their insurance is charging for agreed value?

For example, one of mine is insured for a value £8,500, and I pay around £100 for that (inc. breakdown etc.).
I decided to go for agreed value - sent the forms and photos off asking for an agreed value of £15k, and received an email back asking for an additional £74.

Does that sound reasonable, compared to the difference others have been quoted?

Obviously insurance varies due to vehicle, owner's age, postcode etc., but all I'm looking for is an idea of what sort of extra premium folk are paying, as a percentage of a standard quote.

Thanks,
Robin.

I think that is excessive. Run a quote through the Footman James on-line system.  Peter Best does not charge extra for agreed value, and is good value, but I would advise reading all the documents carefully.

Adrian Flux charge £15 and require a short questionnaire and a set of 7 specified photographs.  My premium did not change despite a hefty increase over the original purchase price.

I have not had an increase in premium for agreed value, where the agreed price has has been the value I have declared for the the initial quotation . I did have a premium increase when I got a professional valuation for my S1, which was some 50% more than I expected , and had declared to the insurers ,which did increase the premium by about £20

I recently paid £110 for agreed value of £7000, no photo's required, including breakdown cover.
I did find a quote of £66 using an online comparison site for classics. The £66 did include agreed value but not breakdown cover.
But, despite me saying on quote that it was not garaged, policy did not cover theft at 'night' if not in a locked garage. I cancelled.
Lots of options with Insurance. Buyer Beware.

£74 extra sounds excessive. I upped the cover on my S1 from £7k to £35k after a professional valuation and it cost me an extra £20. (Heritage Insurance)
