That yellow one in your picture is still going - changed ownership earlier this year. I wonder where that photo was taken. Looks like they maintained their fleet very well, that truck being at least 10 years old at that point. The location reminded me of the old GPO back lot in Bridgend, but maybe they all looked like that.

the place i got the image says

"18713 565 EXU Land Rover 109 with Simon 25A Platform 1962

GENERAL MANAGER GLOUCESTER

Swindon TEC 08/05/76"

and yes the fleets were well maintained usually, depending on workshop and use.
lots of land rovers got regulated to workshop duties once they were no longer needed or a new one came in, so some series 2s made it all the way to the 1990s

Thanks again. I'd forgotten those fleets of pre-BT yellow trucks. Simpler times!
